  1. Fit a Neuspeed 160 degree thermostat. They only cost £15 or so, and they make a huge difference on oil temperatures. My car is very rarely in the 90's, even after driving it hard, and I've never seen it in 3 figures once.
  2. Did you have a before and after rolling road run? Or are you just comparing your figure to the 174bhp book figure?
  3. Even cheaper would be to leave the tyres and cat alone, would give same performance and wouldn't cost a penny. Cheap power doesn't really exist for the VR6, you're best making sure you're getting the best out of it, new spark plugs, HT leads, oil change, perhaps even a Mocal oil cooler, i'd recommend a Neuspeed 160 degree thermostat for around £15, and seek to try and get more cold air into your air box, and replace the air filter with a K&N panel filter, or even an enclosed induction kit although they're a bit pricey. If you do all of those things, you're not going to see an increase in
  4. Maybe it's the rev limiter kicking in then?
  5. How cool is that Sky rocket in the last pic? The Iron Cross wheels are a touch of class.
  6. What do you mean by "rally" it? It's not a term I'm overly familiar with.
  7. Take airbox off, connect it to MAF, tighten jubilee clips, job done. Heatsoak is going to be a problem no matter what you do, get a sheet metal worker to fabricate you a heat shield if possible, but due to the sheer size of it, your choices are limited. I've had a RamAir ProRam on my car for about a year and a half, not had any significant heat soak problems, certainly nothing noticeable. I'd leave things like ECU and air flow sensors alone, totally unnecessary.
  8. Finally got round to getting some pictures taken at lunchtime today. That back has still to be lowered a bit, and perhaps a little at the front, and it had been snowing all morning so needed a hosedown to get rid of all the salt, etc, so it's not as shiny as it should be, and the sunlight wasn't playing ball, but enough with the nit picking. If you have broadband, I suggest downloading this Powerpoint slide show as it'll give much better resolution pictures and it'll save you clicking on 38 different thumbs. Right click, save as: http://eastsidevw.co.uk/images/SlimRespray.ppt And now to all t
  9. Aww, if I had to change the colour of my car, I'd go for lilac, there's an E36 BMW M3 lilac colour which looks amazing. The latest ford Fiestas have a really nice lilac colour too.
  10. Last time I looked, H19 HVR (High VR) was still available for cheap fro mthe DVLA.

    MP3?!

    Limewire's the way forward.
  12. Hmm, hard to tell really, best asking the seller what car they came off, etc as it could be anything.
  13. Depends on the stud pattern to be honest. Post a link to the auction and we can advise better. Tyres may be a tad wide too.
  14. No idea, I just told the guy what I wanted done and he did it
  15. Get it back tomorrow night hopefully I'll be lowering it a wee bit at the weekend too hopefully.
  16. Do Mk3's actually need them? I can't see the rigid Mk3 chassis getting much benefit from them, especially if you have to go drilling holes.
  17. Can't go wrong with Supersprint, especially if you hate loud exhausts. Supersprints fit far better than Millteks (according to the elading Scottish VW tuner who's a distributer for both brands).
  18. If I didn't bugger about with smoothing and colour coding, it would've been just into 4 figures, not sure how much the final bill will be with everything done.
  19. It is a full spray, the roof's already been painted, full surface spray anyway, not bothering with taking doors/windows off as it doesn't really need it.
