    have had a problem with my sharan vr6 since the lifters were done on of them gets noisy when the engine warms up. Have been advised by a mechanic friend that before stripping it down again to use forte engine flush and forte top end treatment. Luckily this motor only has 60000mls on it any ideas if this will work the stealth bomber needs sorted (call it the stealth bomber because the boy racers dont know whats going on till its to late) and they have been humped. Local specialist who done the job refuses to rectify the problem put the car in as it was extremley noisy i thought it was the follo

    ticking gets louder and faster as engine reved it is a faulty tappet. as a couple of mechanics have listened to it both have said sometimes this happens. the stealth bomber needs some attention for this but the problem i have is that everyone seems to scared to touch it.I have lost faith in the local spescialist in fife any one know of someone in this area who would be able to tackle this correctly. the main issue i think with working on this vehicle is that this vehicle is designed for a 4 pot deisel not a vr6 but a great combo none the less

    if you are going to use ps3 or x box better using a kit with a seperate amp i have 2 kits linked both pioneer 10 speakers and a 12" active sub both kits have 2 optical inputs and 2 coaxial inputs so skyhd ps3 and hd dvd can stay connected a bit mad but sounds awsome luckily both neighbours eldely and partialy deaf as the name sudgests madspark

    Put my sharan vr6 s in to a local spescialist in fife to get the lifters done and the chain tensioners done. (59000mls) tensioners dont like it when you miss 5th and hit 3rd when racing nephews 2.2 vtec. Destroyed the tensioners had to get engine removed as bolts sheered, back to problem when engine cold for about 2min sounds fantatic. Unfotunatly when it warms up a loud tick starts went back to complain but told that it was an oil feed problem i recon faulty lifter. Totaly sick of said spescialist who else in fife can rectify this fault as like annoying wee boy racers but ticking annoying.

    i have a 99 sharan vr6 sport with only 6 seats as said by pinkguitar one of the rear seats has a lap belt move it to centre and get an other for rear but depends on trim i couldnt get one with the same but got one on ebay for 99p with £20 delivery once the baby seat is on it no one notices

    on the sharan the rings are on the driveshaft/cv joint any help or sudgestions welcome

    i own a 1999 sharan vr6 sport (great fun)when i pull away when first starting car the abs kicks in although the brakes are not being touched i traced this to one side abs rorors/ring being split and staying stationary any one know if it is possable to just replace the rings and if so where can i get them

    just had 2 of my relations (cousins)who are both mechanics have a listen to it both said it sounds like a single tappet and said he has had a simaler problem with vauxhalls (he is a vauhall mechanic poor bloke) usualy caused by an airlock in the tappet is this posable with the vw engine also if the oil pump is part of the pick up has any one got a link to info on same cheers frae the mad spark

    just had a bit of work done on my sharan vr6 put my car in to a local specialist in fife various people reconed that the noise from the n/s of engine was tappets/lifters but on inspection when covers removed timing chain tensioners destroyed same was replaced but i said to go ahead and do the lifters anyway as engine stripped got car back but now heavy tappet noise from o/s of engine have been told possably caused by partialy blocked oil pick up oppinions and rcomendations welcome soon be looking for a schrick to give the stealth bomber more power

    check max power pioneer do a cd/mp3 head unit for about £90

    what a rare find a fellow sharan owner there is an interrior light control unit (timed relay which switches on and keeps lights on for a few seconds when doors closed) they some times fail try changing same

    i know this isnt the correct section but this will get more veiwing i own a 99 sharan vr6 sport (only 59000mls) it still has the original 16" bbs alloys mining lookin for somethin better any one got any thig for sale but please no film star prices this is a family car with an attitude problem

    i own a 99 sharan vr6 sport with 60 000 miles on it (great for pissing of boy racers i like to think vr6 drivers as grown up) i have had a noise for a while but it dissapered when hot but now just gets quieter been sudgested maybe a cam follower i spoke to a couple of the local specialists ie dealers but they seemed to shy away when i said sharan vr6 any ideas

    unfotunatley ther is only about 18" behind the seats i thought about making an amp rack with a perspex cover and using a nutrik connector with the subs to make them removable try to bear in mind ther is an extra row of seats and visable to TWOCERS stelth is my objecive luckily privicy glass is standard

    try to bear in mind that when it comes to using a p/c i am useless (give me a gas boiler or an electrical fault nae probs) but a p/c naw! how do i put pics on here i have a sharan vr6 and would like to get pics of something a bit different on the site so please an idiots guide to putting pics on the site please ?!

    i have a 99 sharan vrs s se what other wheels will fit (ie what other vehicles have the same stud patern and ofset) the wheels are only 16" with 225 / 50 / 16 i want bigger any advice welcome or anybody with a decent set at a sensible price %-6

    i know my ice quite well but have come up with a slight problem with my latest install i have bought a vw sharan vr6s se my install will comprise of 2 roof mounted flip down monitors and 2 sun visor monitors a dvd player front end focal components and 2 sets of coaxials in the rear this is where the problem lies where the hell do i put the amps and the sub / subs bearing in mind we have no 4 on the way so a pram will have to fit in as well but the subs can be removable as per my last install any sudgestions welcome CHEERS FRAE THE MAD SPARK

    clever lad you wont go wrong with the audiobahn a bit pricy but dam good quality the intermtant on/off is known as clipping and is often linked to a faulty speaker coil so try the amp with a different sub just in case so as to identify if the sub is faulty and not strain or damage your new amp been there cost a bit to fix amps thats how i learned about the fault

    dont know what the performance figures are as i said i dont know much about the beast yet apart from its great at scaring boy racers in there corsas and saxos and of course small children (wait a min thats the same thing) what i do like is when you just brush the throtle and it growls at you sends shivers down your spine and disaproving looks from the wife
