Haven't seen it yet but i'll keep a look out!

Yeah you'd think so wouldn't you lol - apparently not in my case I went through all the parts supplied on the EuroCarParts site. I reckon he's added about £140 on to the price of the parts, things like £14 for an Oil Filter £9 EACH for Spark Plugs (Euro car parts are £3.50) £12 Pollen Filter £32 "MOUNT" - Assume Bushes??? There's a few more things but basically i think it took him ages so he's added the price onto the parts.

Well mine's a 1997 Car so it can't be that????

nickg123 replied to nickg123's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Hmm not to fussed about being heard i must say It's very loud with the Green filter on when booting it, but at least driving around i can keep the neighbours happy.... Think i'll go for something else anyway, thanks for the tips! -
They're not the Red leads, but i think they were around the £65 mark - they're Black so obviously Non VW but from a local motor factors or something.

Yeah i just wondered if it would fit though really, i've been offered one Dirt cheap.. thought it looked a bit different? It's possible the VR will be going soon anyway to get a Diesel with the G/F Universal's are no good then? -
Well that's what he charged me, 4 hours labour for the Bushes....... 2.7 hours was for the rest of the Service so maybe it's not that unreasonable?
-
I'm thinking of getting a Universal Magnex Backbox, what do you think of this tail pipe design? A Bit different i thought, and could look quite nice! As far as Universal backbox go, do they have to be a certain type/fitment? Do any of you know if this would actually fit? (See image below): http://www.magnexexhausts.com/products/us/007.jpg

Really? I guess i obviously had no idea just how big a job it was then! He's effectively charged 4 Hours labour for Bushes 2.7 Hours Labour for the rest.

www.kartvader.com Just following up from the Gixxer Kart post - thought i'd share this with you all ;-) Watch the Demo Clip!

It was the Rear Bushes that took the time, i think he sepnt a whole day doing them near enough! He said he had to drop the rear suspension off etc to change them..... Still - what sort of time should it take to do them?? I must admit i was surprised, i was expecting £350 MAX with all these bits.

Had my car serviced a couple of weeks ago, it was my friends Brother that did it as he recently set up on his own so i took my car to him. Anyway, i had the following done on my VR6: New Plugs New Leads Fuel Filter Oil Filter Pollen Filter FULLY Synthetic Oil Rear Bushes replaced 6.7 Hours Labour to do the above: £452.00 + VAT. Think that was about it....... Does this sound expensive to you??

I've dealt with Toby / Rimstyle many times with all sorts of things. I CANNOT GIVE ENOUGH PRAISE about the products and service these guys give - top quality and very good to communicate with. Sounds like a very good deal to me anyway, if only i had some spare cash lol!

I know mate, i'd love them to just get an M3 Cab, i had an E36 M3 Evo - My Dad loved it so much i can't see why he doesn't just bite the bullet and get one! My Mum would soon get used to it ;-)

I didn't think the Interior was bad at all, my parents have a TT Roadster, and Audi do tend to build their cars well. The Boxster was definitely a step up in terms of quality - i would definitely have one as a fun summer sort of car. Admitted i'd rather a 911 but i doubt i'd afford one lol My Parents have tried all sorts to replace the TT with, Alpina Z4 came close (Sub 5 second 0-60) but being a full spec Alpina, the BMW dealers don't like them very much and they can be a nightmare to get parts for. Boxster S is the only other car they can consider - an M3 is too big for my Mum (i've tried to

I ran a 7.94 1/4 Mile this morning! If you Click on "Race Computer" you can race against the clock to get more money - you get about 5 races a day!
-
PMSL - i think i would laugh out loud if someone asked for that! That is indeed one of the saddest things i've heard! What did he drive out of interest? I never got that luckily enough!
-
I've got a 106 S16, but with over 500 bhp, and weighs the same as my phone lol!

I've been using this for a couple of months now, but haven't noticed any threads about it before, thought some of you may be interested: http://www.ashracing.com/ Basically, you get given money each day to buy a car with, and do it up etc. Then you can accept bets from people to race against them. You don't actually drive, but it simulates the times based on Mods done to the car. Only takes up 2 mins of each day, and is just another thing to fill your time with while at work lol! PS - I'm nickg123 on there if anyone wants to race me etc 8)
-
Bless lol - i like it when innocent people like that have the guts to ask questions etc about your car, i used to get it all the time with my Pulsar - nobody knew what it was lol! I used to just say it's an Old Datsun with a 2.0 engine

Surely the recovery company must be liable for some of the cash if they've dented the roof and doors?? I agree with what most say on here, i'd simply claim and buy it back so you can at least strip it! Sorry to hear your news, main thing is nobody got hurt - cars can always be replaced!
-
I think they're a lot better then people give them credit for! Maybe you just needed more time to get used to the handling etc???

At least we don't have to worry about Turbos!
