  1. You got any insurance quotes yet Warren? Be interesting to know what sort of price you get quoted.
  2. ACF any chance you would be able to help with my rouge ABS light? I am in Northwood Middex, so Maidenhead is pretty close.
  3. Sounds awesome!!! I am very jealous. Where abouts in Germany is the car? Thats going to be a fun drive home! Maybe a quick stop in Nurburgring on the way back??! BTW duty is not an issue because of the age of the car.
  4. Anyone got one of these on their VR or seen one? Do they look any good? http://www.fkautomotive.de/images/produkte/FKSG059.jpg
  5. Yeah its a shame they are so bad standard. I am looking for an old car mag review on the VR, be intersting to see what they said about it at the time. Think I will have to at some time invest in some Neuspeed ARB's as the front end seems to have a mind of its own when you push around bends, hopefully that will tighten everything thing up.... or I bite the bullet and get a MK5 - better start saving!!
  6. Has anyone got these on their VR? Just interested to see what they would look like on a black VR. http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/images/mk4stylesmoked.jpg
  7. Still highest bidder Warren!!! Only one day to go! !amazed !amazed
  8. It gets vague a lot sooner than 80mph ACF! Really transforms the car, before (with my Koni's) I was considering taking the beast on a track day now I don't i'll bother!! probably end up in the barriers!
  9. I had the same problem ste-vr6, I only had Koni's and lowering springs but found the ride too harsh for everyday driving and the ground clearance was becoming an issue with more than one person in the car. Speed bumps became a nightmare! I got so sick of it that I replaced the Koni's for Boge standard stuff. Its now a much improved ride, but obviously the handling has suffered (BIG TIME!!! ) but the ride makes up for it and I can now go over speed bumps faster than 5mph!! For me it was the right thing to do because I don't thrash around that much any more really wanted comfort. I miss my ol
  10. How many Syncro's did they make? I presume they were only sold in Germany. Does the extra weight of the 4X4 slow it down at all?
  11. Badboy - do i get a finders fee!?
  12. My German is not too hot but from what he is saying it sounds a good'un!

  14. I have removed my Koni adjustables and springs from my 96 VR and currently selling them on Ebay. I am getting a lot of questions regarding what other Golfs they will fit, can someone help?? Also can anyone identify what springs they are?? (see link below for picture). They were on the car when I bought it and I haven't got a clue what they are. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7962935045&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Cheers
  15. Its intermittant, some times its fine and doesn't come on and other times it stays on as soon as I turn the ignition on.
  16. They are friends of friend so I trust them and know they are not knowingly trying to rip me off. They are a Rover specialist so when they started to suggest it may a big part (like the ABS pump) that maybe at fault I just want to make sure they have tried all other possibillities. They must of reset the code becase the light was off when I picked the car up. It has come on since though, but goes out as well.
  17. Trouble is I dont the garage is too clued up about VAG cars. The first time the car went in they replaced this sensor that keeps bring up the errors and then when this did not cure the light they replaced the same sensor again in the instance that it was faulty (unlikely??). Now we are two sensors on and the light is still coming on intermittently. acf8181, can you tell me a bit more about the ring so I can tell the garage what to look for? Cheers
  18. According to garage its the same sensor that throws up the error code. (which has been replaced - twice!)
  19. My light has been coming on and off for the last few months. It has been into my local garage a couple of times. They have plugged it in to VAG-COM and it threw up a few error codes for a sensor. This has been replaced by the garage. Now I picked up the car and the light has come on again!! The mechanic now thinks it could be more than a sensor and that the ABS pump is faulty. Does this sound right? If the ABS pump is replaced do you have to replace the ECU? I thought I read someone saying you had to. Any help would be most appreciated as this little light is causing me lots of bother and
  20. Decided to go for some H&R Springs on my Koni's as I understand they are softer than Eibach so they will give a better ride, is this right? ?! :? Also can some one point me in the right direction as to where to get them from for a decent price? Cheers
  21. They are VW, though from a Mk4. Does it make any difference?
  22. Will I need collars if I am just swaping with the BBS standard alloys that come on the Highline?
