  1. Why would he bother registering with another name? He's already said he's sold the VR so has no interest in the club! TBH, he's probably off terrorising the MX5 club or the Tigra club judging by the gayness of his actions so far...
  2. Koni/Eibach and yes it's crashy and bangy and horrible. I've been in/driven mk3anni (the big tart)'s VR on Konigsports many times, and with the crap roads round here it's really not comfortable either! TBH, as soon as I get outside the M25, I love driving my car as the roads just seem to get better, but round here it's a nightmare!
  3. After years of driving lowered cars, I'm getting a bit bored with the inablity to drive anywhere without losing a few fillings, and I'm seriously considering 'unlowering' the VR. I don't want to revert to stock VR 'jelly' handling, so am thinking of retaining the Eibach ARB's, using Koni gas shocks but with stock VW springs. My feeling is that this should still handle, but have a bit of comfort too. Anyone tried this sort of thing? Any thoughts? The only downside I can see, is it's going to make my car look like a 4x4!
  4. That's what I thought, but it's quite fun looking at the facial expressions of people driving in!!
  5. Yep, that's what I thought! Eat this off topic as usual!!
  6. I don't think anyone else has posted these, some pics of us all arriving at Santa Pod. The convoy arrival is in the 9-10 section on pages 13 and 14. Link: http://www.photography-uk.com/events-2005/gti-international/index.php
  7. Oh so that's yours is it Mat? Really?
  8. LOL, I'm not far away either, in Wallington, and our cars are pretty similar....
  9. That's mk3anni - he lives at the top of sutton.
  10. From memory, I'm pretty sure there are only five wires on the power ISO connection and one should be live with ignition on. Certainly a Highline would have had this from the factory. Have you checked fuses? Does everything else inside work (cigarette lighter socket for example)?
  11. Mine seems to want to leave, as it's stopped working. Bloody annoying, as I use it quite a lot - I can't bear not being able to see out the back!
  12. Nice! Another variation on the RH Cup theme. Reckon we must have a set of every type they made between the members on here!
  13. Could give it a go for cheap with these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7962935045&ssPageName=ADME:B:WN:UK:18
  14. Isn't the rim measured between the tyre mounting surfaces, rather than the edges? So a 7.5 rim will measure a bit more edge to edge - in the same way a 17" rim actually measures 18" across the front.
  15. Looks like you are running 17's too - this will make your ride harsher due to the low profile rubber. As you can adjust your damping, it sounds like you are running Koenigsports, which ride reasonably well, so surprising you find it so harsh. My Eibach springs and Koni shocks combination rides a little softer than Koenigsports, but any lowered and stiffened suspension is going to be relatively harsh if you use the car everyday!
  16. Looks an excellent meet, I'd forgotten it was today, or I would have driven over. Will come have a look one of these months!
  17. Just been to get some for mine - couldn't believe the bill only came to £33 odd for 10 litres and an oil filter! Guess I better go outside and change the oil now then...
  18. Get a new MOT and take it in with the producer. Chances are they will simply accept it rather than notice it started after you were stopped!
  19. I like it. Not seen those rear clusters before - i reckon they'd work well on a really smooth car, not sure on a more standard looking one like that!
  20. Longbeaches were fitted to VR's in the US, but never seen them on VR's in the UK.
