  1. Deako, that was a fantastic result mate, after you building it do quick - felt slightly guilty taking the prize when I beat you so slimly and all I'd done was put petrol in it!!
  2. Sounds a pretty good price Fabio. Just remember Elephant don't like mods, so if you intend making any changes to the car, I'd look for a specialist who can give a similar quote.
  3. If the light comes on, it's disabled, so shouldn't go off! Mine's on at the moment, must sort it out - get someone with VAG-COM to read the fault code and find out what happened.
  4. I thought I was excited when I got mine, but you really are!! Does it feel slow after an M3? I was following an E36 M3 the other day and he seemed to be struggling to lose me - I'm guessing the Power to Weight ratio can't be that far different!
  5. Sounds like Dusty Mauve. Sorry, don't know the paint code.
  6. That is an amazing daily driver!
  7. Get some Kiwi Shoe Dye on those faded plastic bits to get them back to a permanent shiny black - will really tidy up the looks!
  8. Open Filter (Ramair) and Remus here and it sounds much like that!

    top mounts

I used the ecp ones on my GTI and they lasted next to no time. The VW ones are worth paying the extra!
  10. Definitely - get some proper cars in there for a change!! Think we can do without the cheesy pics of the owners that all RR day features seem to have though!
  11. Mr Fish that looks absolutely feckin lovely! I don't think you can beat RX2's on a Mk3 Golf, they just look so right!
  12. Did the quote include the damage done by the recovery company? How much was that element of it? Surely there's potential to claim against them.
  13. If Drivers aren't helpful I would imagine you might have some facility to complain to Powerflow themselves, as they authorise the dealers.
  14. Who's quoting 2k to fix it? If that's a proper quote for an insurance company, it'd cost a lot less if you did as much yourself as possible and used 2nd hand parts where possible?
  15. I never take mine past half throttle or 3000 revs, and preferably 2000 revs until the oil temp is up to 65 degrees, as I understand that's when the engine can be considered to be up to working temperature. I usually warm it up by driving it very gently rather than sitting at idle, unless it's been really really cold when I usually let it idle for a minute or two first.

    and work

Colleagues who blame anything - the weather, the dog, the computer system - anything, other than themselves when they haven't done what you've asked them to do!
  17. Take it back and make them sort it. The whole point of a Powerflow exhaust is it's custom built to fit the car, and clearly they haven't managed this! I had a Powerflow centre section on my GTI which fitted perfectly and has never caused any issues - they certainly didn't need to do anything to the rear axle to fit it!
  18. The 40 mph club - these people drive at 40 whether it's an open road or through town past a school, and therefore clearly have absolutely no thought of road conditions or the traffic round them, which is immediately proven when a hazard comes their way!
  19. I'll remind Steve (mk3anni) to bring his laptop!
  20. Could be the fuel pump isn't kicking in immediately? So it fires but has no fuel to keep it going. Could be something to do with an immobiliser taking a second to properly deactivate so it hasn't let the fuel pump have power?
  21. Sounds like Mystic Blue.
  22. Got a reply from the seller. Think he's a little annoyed with the number of people asking this, so don't anyone else ask him! Reply: Can you bid on it and then I will waste my time telling you of my question avoiding cunning plan which has back fired orribly? The question that gets on my tits is = When was the cambelt last changed? For all of you who don't know your VR6 s this solves a problem. Howeva this back fired and I'm in undated with your question now. Cant Win. Bid on it and you have a lovely car with recent TIMING BELT CHANGES AND TOOTH CHECKS.
  23. Probably a dirty sensor. Are you coming to the RR day? I'm sure somebody will run it on VAG-COM for you and check the fault code, then you know where to look.
