  1. I'm not usually keen on bright red cars but that looks good!!
  2. 215/40/16 would give you the best drive as they'll be less stretched, but might not look as good if you want the streeeetch!
  3. Loads of lowering springs are red, so it's hard to tell from that. Black shocks is more unusual - Koni made some black ones, or as suggested above, they may be standard shocks with the lowering springs.
  4. That look really nice. As you say, doesn't need much - proper suspension and an early-spec front spoiler and it'll look mint!
  5. I've always liked the style of Superleggera's and it'd certainly be different in Gold on a Blue Golf, though personally I'd probably buy them in Anthracite!
  6. Congrats Stevetots, you won't regret it!! The colour sounds to be Mystic Blue which is the same colour as my GTI. It's a pearlescent and is amazing in the sun when it turns purple!
  7. Blimey and I thought mine was cheap! Give Brentacre a try on the insurance front (01792 650933) - they've been way cheaper than HIC for the last couple of years for me!

Yeah, you just turn up - it's not organised as such. It's the second Weds of each month. Maybe we should make an effort to make a bit of a VR6OC presence when it warms up a bit! (I've always thought these sort of car park meets a bit crappy in winter!)
  9. Can't you use the centre caps from your standard BBS?
  10. Looks nice! Now sort the ride height out!!
  11. Don't buy full rangers, buy some decent components and put the tweeters in the standard positions - you'll get much better stereo imaging that with full ranges in the doors pointing at your ankles! BTW, the speakers are the same in 3 or 5 door.
  12. Ooooh, those seats look lovely. What are they? How much?!
  13. And a slight update, with debadged grille, new foglight lenses without the cracks, proper early spec front spoiler, and current OE headlights as I can't make my mind up on the twins! And, one in the middle of today's project - 'highering' the GTI - now all ready for some lucky person to buy... [ Edited Sun Jan 09 2005, 05:22PM ]
  14. Presuming that includes splitting them to properly refurb them, that sounds good.
  15. It's definitely worth going for the anti roll bars, I'm constantly amazed how well mine handles with them. It just stays flat and hangs on, where without them it would struggling. There are some downsides - the ride tends to suffer a bit as the opposite side will react a bit more to bumps, and it's a bit jittery if you hit a bump mid corner, but I think it's worth it!
  16. Nice! Have you thought of chopping the ends of the plate off, get rid of those big white blank bits?
  17. If it didn't come with front fogs, the switch will only have one 'pull' function, for the rear fogs. You can usually find the two pull switch on ebay, or look for one in a scrappy etc. TBH the fogs are pretty useless anyway, so I never bothered on my GTI.
  18. Get some Beetle wheels - it's the new big thing... Just watch out for them in the 2005 show season!
  19. I'd get a bodyshop or a good valeter to machine polish it, they can probably remove them.
