  1. Just remembered I've got one of those light units spare somewhere. If I can find it, it's yours!
  2. They were sold as accessories via VW at one stage, might be worth trying a Stealer, but won't be cheap if they can get them!
  3. I'd presume the bulb has gone, as even if the system wasn't working the light would come on and remain lit?
  4. MkV wheels are 5x112, which you can get adaptors to fit a 5x100 car, the only issue is if they would push them too far out -depends on the offset of the rims.
  5. Mine is P plate and just turned 75,000...... so better than yours!
  6. Surely you don't want the ABS light to come on? Or you mean it doesn't come on at all, even on start up?
  7. I think there is some confusion here between 12v and 24v VR engines. On a 12v, the cams work like any traditional 12v V6 engine - one looks after inlet and exhaust for 1,3,5 and the other inlet and exhaust for 2,4,6. On the 24v, one camshaft does inlet and the other exhaust, using a rather trick bit of head design. This website explains it pretty well: http://www.autozine.org/technical_school/engine/tech_engine_packaging.htm
  8. About time too! Looks so much better!
  9. When I bought my VR, it already had the Schrick but the butterfly had seized due to a vacuum hose having come off some time before, yet it still pulled more strongly than a standard VR (it is chipped too). Once I sorted out the butterfly it's even better. It is a relatively subtle mod though -if you just in and boot it up an empty road you might be a bit disappointed as the top end power isn't much different, but in everyday use, the power is way more usable as it comes in so much sooner!
  10. Yes they'll fit. All mk4 Golf/Bora wheels are 5x100. Will look good if the car's proper low, I would reckon.
  11. Looking good, and the banners aren't bad either!!
  12. mk3anni has it and is in the right area. Do you still have the facility to do aircon recharging? I know he needs that doing as do I!!
  13. They are probably the Hellas, the ones on mine were from the supplying dealer just a couple of months after the original owner bought the car. I'm pretty sure that GSF carry the replacement bezels.
  14. If you've got the big glovebox, I always though that would be a trick place to mount a cd changer - never got round to it myself when I had the GTI. But most people seemed to have them in the same place as ninja. The previous owner of my car did the same, and decided it would be a good idea to cut the corner out of the boot carpet too! GIMP! Thankfully I found a decent 2nd hand boot carpet!
  15. That's going to look wicked! When they going on - have you got those adapters yet?
  16. You can set fire to the car with any badly fitted electrical component. A power cap is just the same!
  17. If you are still worried, here's a deal: go buy the ZW1's and if you have problems with arches fouling etc, I'll swap you a set of 7.5x16 RH Cups.
  18. PS. Apparently GPC have sold out and won't have any in til the end of the month.
  19. I'd get it done now, as those blisters are bound to spread and you'll end up with a wreck of a Golf with tasty wheels and seats!
  20. The rims came out well, but the pics are crap!! Where's the centre caps?
  21. I saw those and thought about bidding, will be very nice once sorted out!
  22. Maybe, unless it was way out before and now they've corrected it? You can tell visually if it is way out - crouch down and look at the front of the car and the front wheels should look almost exactly vertical, but very slightly tilted inward at the top (ie very slight negative camber). Do this on a flat surface such as a driveway - the curve of public roads makes it impossible to tell!
