WARNING about clicky CV Joints / UJ's
Devilfish replied to Devilfish's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
ill post some pics after ive figuered out how i'm gonna get to taunton tommorow for my sons christening.... took 4 hours to get recovered... and the hazards flattened the battery... very cold when you cant start the engine! -
If your cv joints start clicking on less than full lock CHANGE THEM AND DONT DRIVE!! nearly stuffed my VR into the central reservation as the joint collapsed jamming the steering and preventing me from turning to the right. !amazed now considerably lighter in the wallet following a 60 mile recovery Devilfish....

of my car is slowly falling apart.. !amazed radiator, abs sensors... !sad now i have what i think is a wheel bearing going on the passenger side and my CV joint drivers side is making a racket when turning. ~ A few questions... I have a bearing kit from GSF is there a procedure online for replacing the bearing and is a press required for removal. The bearing i have looks like a normal, albeit large! ball race, i have only ever done the taper roller bearing type before. is it an easy job? also same question for replacing the front outside cv/uj is it an easy job? Many thanks in advance Devil
