    i'm in the process of doing so,got most of the pipes,radiator and condenser in place,just compressor, matrix and elecrics left which is where i'm stuck,i notice that air-con golfs have a brown plug on the thermo housing,what is this for,where do the wires go?? i basicly need all the wiring for this,and the compressor and condenser(the thing down by the carbon canister). also what are the small plasic white and green pipes for? cheers

    right,my golf has the factory beige leather interior with heated front seats,i also still have the 'donor' golf which i robbed of it's vsr manny,it also has cloth recaros in it so i was wanting to get these re-trimmed in beige leather and swapped over.how much would it cost just to get the 2 front recaros trimmed and would it be possible to get heating elements in them too?? cheers

    is it true that a vsr or schrick compensates for the loss of bottom end tourque when you fit 268 cams? roughly what should an obd1 golf with a vsr,cams and remap be putting out power/tourque wise? ta

    right,i got round to fitting my vsr manifold today,car starts up and idles ok but there is white smoke/steam coming from the top of the engine near the throttle body.what the fook have i done?? *-) i did spill a bit of coolant around that area but surely that would only turn to steam if the engine was hot?

    does anyone out there have a vw motorsport vsr with all VW bits NOT schrick bit that make it work? i.e. the green vacume tank,solenoid,plug-in connectors etc. the plus for me is i have all the above as i`m currently swapping over from a donor car. the down is i`m not sure about the electrical side of things. for starters the donor car is a dizzy,min`s a coilpack.the only wiring that`s there is a red wire going from the solenoid to a red/blue wire on a connector which is on one of the pipes that go to the carbon cannister.there is a brown wire which goes from the solenoid to the ecu. is this al

    yeah it`s a hot beast,i`m about to fit air-con to mine as it`s unbearable in the summer

    when i take my foot off the clutch it doesn`t spring back into position as fast as it should and most of the time i find it hard to select any gear at all.what`s wrong and is it an expensive repair? cheers

    i would`nt bother reto-fitting climatronic unless you`ve got money to burn,vw quoted me 2 grand!! you could however go for standard air-con,that`s what i`m gettin done next week.get all the parts off ebay(cost me £60 including the compressor)and just pay a garage for the labour,which i was quoted to be around the £500 mark.
