yeah think its a valve type thing that opens and closes some thing to do with the fuel return ,vapours etc.

you know that thing under the air box ,some sort of , i dont know what it is just had a quick glance at it last nite looks like its somethig to do with the fuelling side of things anyway its clicking its head off every now then sounds awful does anyone know what im on about any advice peeps. :|

Have you looked at all the pulleys that the auxilary belt drives ,water pump ,belt tensioner etc could be a worn bearing .

defo the tensioner pulley had the stethescope thingy on the pulley an the bearings are shot

the vr,s seem to run a higher oiltemp than yer gti,s mine averages mid 80,s to 90 odd .
