ahhhhh, they fit perfectly..... drool!

my jom one has the metal lower part, you're best off checking with whoever you're buying one off to make sure. Not sure where else sells them, I got one a couple of years ago from dubfreeze. (@)

jom ones are definately better than fk as far as value for money and fit go, check out the jom one here, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK3-III-MK-3-Debadged-Bageless-Grill-Grille-NEW_W0QQitemZ110088740350QQihZ001QQcategoryZ43118QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem seems a very good price, i paid that much for mine second hand a year ago! if you don't mind paying a bit more, i really recommend the mattig 2 bar as it was superior quality and fit but alot more expensive! spoken to the experts and had a vw specialist auto electrician look over absolutely everything and vagcom comes back with no faults, resetting the ecu has made her run slightly better but she's getting worse again, so not apermanent fix. The auto electrician is positive it's the ecu at fault and says i need a replacement. The code off mine is 021 906 258 CH, does anyone know the best place to source a second hand one? I've found a few with the letters CP at the end, will any other vr6 obd1 ecu do? or does it have to be the CH? Hope someone knows! Cheers

hi guys, does anyone know if it's possible to reset the ecu's adaptations? The latest from the garage is that because my car was running fine with 6 bent exhaust valves for the past two years, the ecu was compensating by altering the fuel mixture and now i've had the headwork done, it's not bounced back so is running really lean (not running under load at all now). So if the ecu can be reset to learn the adaptations again, the problem may be solved without a new ecu having to be sourced. Hope someone knows, Thanks, Katie PS, I tried to search for answers to this, but i kept getting a message

Defo, thanks RCF, i'm passing on your tips to the auto electrician tomorrow. It's not the coil pack, just tried ALLTORQUEs and the problem persists. Fault codes cleared and re-tested and the fault: 02 sensor control is being thrown up. So will check this sensor with the help of the auto electrician along with RCFs ideas and report back. Thanks once again, Katie (@) -

cheers dude, will do. -
So yeah, the problem's got worse http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?146606 it's sooting number 6 plug while the others are fine. it starts, but try to set off and it dies straight away, misfiring. could this be a coilpack problem, there are no obvious cracks. I'm thinking of getting one of those ibvr jobbies, but could it be the amp on mine that's gone? any more ideas would be hugely appreciated, thanks.

Engine Missing and Popping - HELP!
katconcarne replied to VR6Fletch's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
i have exactly the same problem and my spark plugs and leads are new. let me know if you sort it what it was! good luck (@) -
yeah, got a new relay. if fuel line taken off fuel rail and put into jar, fuel not coming through on ignition only on engine crank, whick takes around 6 revolutions to start. is that normal? rail is not leaking or blocked. could it be that its getting fuel and when its rich for accelleration its dampening the spark, ive put ngk platinum plugs in for the obd2 even though its obd1, does this matter? im getting it back on vagcom and to an auto electrician to check out wiring and ecu as soon as the guy is free, which may be a while. cheers steve, your help is massively appreciated, Katie

few things to try; 1. check seals around doors and windows by sitting in it while someone hoses around each seal, look for obvious leakage. 2. use a jet wash to clear drains. 3. find that other thread, it wasn't too long ago and there was plenty of advise. good luck, kat

with fuel line off it flows well. fuel pressure gauge is 4 bar with no vac, 3.5 on vac. spark plugs are a normal light tan in colour. no strong smell of fuel. if it starts to die and cuts out you have to turn ignition off to restart or else it takes loads of turns before it starts. the car only has this problem when the inlet manifold pressure drops, but after fitting the pump it has problems in neutral and coming on to powerband it stops revving. thanks guys for your help, Tom, katies other half.
