Well i'm now selling my beautiful dragon green 3dr thats in mint condition with only 97.5k on the clock (slip in a ad) basically because i've bought a porsche. Someone is coming to look at the VR tonight and i think that one look at it and it'll sell, as i'm only asking 2750 for it, its just had new catback jetex and whole new suspension, new tyres, camber and alignment done, new MOT and 6 months tax. Bargain. Although i've now got a porsche i will really miss my VR, she has never let me down in three years and starts first time every time, i think that the mk 3 VR has got to be one of the g

i've had 34 on the way back from london and i wasnt hanging about, i think that VR's are best on long journeys. -

Well my VR has felt like a under powered peice of junk for a while so i figured the only thing to do in these circumstances was to pull it apart and investigate!!! And i found a rusty looking cracked sorry excuse for a coilpack that had been zapping my power and enjoyment. Being a tight bastard i thought i'm not buying a new one so i cleaned it up and plastered it back together and coated it in epoxy plastiweld, (awesome stuff i got a real buzz off it), let it dry over night and slapped the bad boy back on the VR. anyway the result was amazing all my lost power had returned and it drives so s

Hi, I think that this head unit was the standard one when the VR was new, i'm putting a sub in and its all wired and powering fine, power lights on ect.... but no sound. It seems to me that there is no signal coming from the aux outputs on the head unit. does anyone know anything about this model as its doing my head in, i'm wondering if the aux out is not permanantly active and i need to activate it somehow. any advice would be most appriciated as i'm close to ripping it out and stamping on it!! Oh i've had a sub running off it before but took it out as i was gonna sell the car but as i've

Ok, but at the end of the day 4wd will give better traction than a fwd car regardless of whether it has got traction control or not. i own a VR and i love it so i'm not slagging them off, i'm just saying that there is a limit to how much power you can efficiently put through a fwd car, and if you have to have a device to stop power(traction control) then effectively its got too much power for the chassis dynamics and traction caperbility of that particular vehicle. As they regularly say "Getting loads of power out of a engine is the easy bit, putting it down is a whole different ball game."

911 Turbos are 4wd. plenty of 911s are rwd Yes they are but 911 turbos are 4wd! lol.

correct, but if you do the guides you may aswell change the chains. hence why people say they are getting there 'chains' done.

The main dealers say that because VW themselves say that they will last the life of the engine so they can't really say otherwise. Most people change them as a precautionary measure. Dave
