Not sure about on the road performance, but the latest EVO have just done a group test with the new S3, 0-60 in 5.6 and 0-100 in 13.7, also set a new lap record on there track for a hot hatch beating the previous record of the mkV R32.

"the 4 motion is faster than a standard vr6 otherwise its not but u are gettin a newer car with all modcons nd maybe low mileage" I am not convinced by this to be honest, obviously its newer, but the slow motions I've played with or driven have not been any quicker than a VR, and as for mod cons, my highline had air con, sunroof, heated seats, heated mirror's etc(like they all have).... apart from rain sensetive wipers the slow mo's i looked had nothing else to shout about. Don't get me wrong, I seriously looked at them as a replacement, but as soon as I took a couple for a drive I knew exactl

Recently sold my highline, was thinking of a 4motion to replace it with, but when I took a few out I was not impressed to be honest, very comfortable, lots of grip, but not very quick IMO, my VR6 highline was faster and more fun!!! they should be called v6 Slow motion.

Hi Matth76 93-96 M3 (E36) 3.0 286BHP 5 speed 96-99 M3 (E36) Evolution 3.2 321BHP 6 speed 99-06 M3 (E46) 3.2 341 BHP 6 Speed Makes the VR6 174 BHP look quite poor to be honest!!!!

Thats all very well in a straight sprint, but most roads have corners!!! where the 4motion has the edge.
-
"who gives a shite about semantics its still a vr btw theyr actually slower than a 12v mk3" Are they though?? On paper, the MK4 4motion has 30bhp more (204bhp & 200lb/ft of torque) and its quoted 0-60 time is 6.9sec. Obviously the 4wd saps some of the power, but the fact its got 4wd means its going to get off the line quicker!! I had a little play with one and round the twisty bits it left me for dead!!! An exhaust/filter and remap will see 225bhp no problem. It depends on the driver I suppose!!

I love my VR and in terms of bang for buck, it really is a good buy. However, mines 10 years old now, and I am considering getting a MK4 r32, my mate had one and I loved it!!!! Go for a blast in an R32, and then get straight into your VR, then you will realise what all the fuss is about!!!!! Also all this "a lightly modded VR would keep up" stuff is all very well until you get to a corner or you come across a lightly modded R32, and then its see ya!!! I am not knocking the VR (I've still got one) but I think its time to move on!!!!

E36 M3 coupe for me, 321bhp as standard (3.2 Evo) and you can pick a mint one for 8-10 Grand these days.....

I am having problems too, on my laptop which is using mozilla firefox browser & my desktop at home which is IE6. Site often freezes when I click on anything and each page takes ages to load, or the screen jumps about randomly!!!!! I really like coming on here, but its becoming a pain to use now!!! In terms of appearance the site is miles better, but performance wise, it has got worse, The situation is the same whether I am at home or work and regardless of what browser I use Firefox, netscape or IE6.

ST200 Mondeo is a 2.5 V6 24v.

Well I would not drive to hard until you get it sorted, if you can feel any vibration through the steering wheel get it sorted straight away. If the sound goes away or gets louder when turning a certain direction its definately the bearing.

Don't be suprised if your VR uses 1ltr x 1200 miles.

I am talking about the current MK 5 GTI, 2.0l turbo, 197BHP. 2.0l NA & 1.8T are MK 4, get with the times!!!!!!
