Anyone have link to mark 4 R32 review on Top Gear
vr6highline28 replied to matth76's topic in General Chat
no haven't joined the R32 one as to be honest only intend having it another 2 years and will keep it as FVWSH so wont need any info on maintenance etc .... and i wouldn't have a clue where to start ! then i think i'll move onto audi's ! yes all was tongue in cheek and any members who've met me up at leeds i hope would agree im not a nasty person and love vw's ! i dont think an r32 site would have much success until the prices come down ..... which they will hopefully as quickly as an RS4 !! -

heah i am calmed down lol ....... im more worried about him riding horses in a previous career lol .... but im chilled and acknowledge i got the timings wrong !!!! but heah do any of us really care ! i dont ! just receiving offensive pm's is not my game of cricket as met some real good blokes from the leeds area off here so dont want my good memories of harewood house etc tarnished ! -

hi sanky thanks for that ! hi there matt - lovely plate tah ! hi there mr monster - a very - in fact very - offensive pm received from you thankyou to which i have civilly replied ! yes the mk4 is 1.33 secs ... my error in good faith ! -
mr highline monster i am not failing to see anything .... wot is this issue about R32's ? heah great to see one being burnt (errrrmmm on the str8 not around the country roads or hills in germany, no doubt with a shrick etc) .... but do i really give a toss .... i met some real some nice guys up north near leeds from here into VR6's .... but people like you almost seem to treat other comments as though you are in an interview room .. almost like a copper that can't switch off ? oh and can't afford a newer car .... i used to be an RP so i dont like being questioned all the time about details -

i cant believe im being called on this light hearted thread ,,,, but it is so clear that almost none of you have ever driven half the cars you talk about and have never had a track day under your belt where you would find a decent driver to compete against !! people seem to be making comments about performance whom have never driven, raced on a track, nor probably even sat in the cars !!! think about it .... on top gear they never race an 'lower' car against a better car ... why ? well coz maybe its coz the manufacturers dont wanna be shown up by a VXR matching a Boxster - get me drift !!! but

haha what a lovely thread .... i knew damned well the 1.30 secs time was from a mk5 ... and yes the mk4 was 1.33secs .... so why on a vr owners site are people so quick so slag off an r32 ... rather funny me thinks .... as for the balance of the car you aint driven one thats all i can say ... my old vr6 was a nightmare with that heavy lump in it but in r32 u dont know its there! ... and as for the comment about keeping uith m3's ? av u ever raced one and got the thumbs up from an m3 driver as basically they thought it was just a golf ? ... but this was a tongue in cheek post at end of the day
-
gotta be honest guys this was a tongue in cheek post and what a great response !!!! i would just love to know how many of you who have posted have driven an r32 and raced against m3's, 911's etc ? all this stuff about 400 bhp being much quicker i cant argue with as have never driven an rs4 etc - all i can say is that having seen how the veyron performed on top gear even with 1000 bhp it was very quick till a point then it slowly edged up to its maximum speed due to laws of physics ... interesting !

me fink dat is real kewl ... gonna twat me da r32 wiv da white vents n if yah take take da piss then me twin exhaust will blow dah cobwebs away me man .... ok ?
-
this has worked for me at work when i have said there aint much in it between me R32 and an M3 .... these independant results by the same driver prove a point i hope !!!! no wonder civic type r drivers give an r32 a wide berth ( though from experience can spank a vr6 !!!) ... i wonder where a stock vr6 would be ???? trail down to a mere No' 50 to find the R32 ! but see whats below it though ! porsche 911 turbo ffs !!!! this has to be best link some of you may have seen for a long time as a bloke at work couldnt believe the where R32 was and he knows his cars !!! http://www.topgear.com/content/

well i used quantum gold in me old vr6 ... with no ill effects .... had me r32 serviced at vw and they recommended the gold stuff so i suppose its horses for courses !!
-
R36 Golf .... will it genuinely be any better around a circuit than a mk4 r32 ? im saving me money for an rs4 when i get rid of the r32 !!!! you have to trade up me thinks !!!
-
you are right about the short shift change matt in the r32 ..... now im used to driving mine i doubt there would be much in it against a dsg to be honest !

[moved] Low Mileage VR6 - Advice on Guide Price
vr6highline28 replied to Red Heat's topic in General Chat
would be interesting to know how much this really goes for ..... for someone whose only been in the vr6 owners club for a matter of days it looks like another trader thinking they are gonna make a mint on an old car worth about 2.5k on autotrader - good luck - i think im outta this club -
Which of the VR6 family is the cheapest to run?
vr6highline28 replied to VR40's topic in General Chat
mpg from an r32 ? ure looking at about 21 mpg for a mix of around town, motorway and heavy overtaking - when the r32 1st came out all the motoring journalists loved its performance, rarity and most of all the handling but the r32 is very expensive to run (heah im not moaning here at all as i dont mind as can afford it) but running it comes as follows .... about 21 mpg (and if you can manage 28 mpg doing 70 mph all day that's fine but wot's the point of having an r32 then ? lol) ,,,, it gets through tyres like hell especially the rear one's when a large chunk of the power is thrown to one of th -
oh and you can normally tell a trader on ebay when they mention bhp of the vr6 .... strangely enough that's the official vw given bhp for the golf vr6 which any numpty knows you can find off the internet - an informed seller would mention obd2 and perhaps around 190 bhp etc ..... the number of vr6's and highlines i have seen on ebay quoting the 174 bhp figures is quite a few hence = trader in my view ?

Think of Jumping to Audi, whats my 97P Vr6 worth?
vr6highline28 replied to jpc's topic in General Chat
hello mate - i got £ 2.5k for a pretty decent highline 4 door fsh 90k etc - it tied in with the parkers used car price guide so i was happy to get that - at the end of the day only 1 person came up with the readies so it was hobsons choice ! -
was travelling darn sarf for mother's day at the weekend and saw this corrado storm with all badges intact - it was absolutely filthy - when i overtook the driver i couldn't but help slow down and point at his car and give the thumbs up ! unfortunately i think it was taken the wrong way as the driver and partner looked in their late 60's !!!! i think they thought i was taking the piss in my R32 but i wasn't .... heah just goes to show !!!!
-
you should get £ 100 for it if its mint - i bought mine for £ 100 off a member 2 years ago and yes i remember the 'incident' at edition 38 2 years ago - i also wanted it - shame it wont fit an r32 now lol !!! gotta be honest though wasnt a great fan of it as harder to grip than the standard steering wheel so even though looked good i made a mistake !
-
interesting thread - if you are after an audi tt go for the 3.2 litre quattro - its got the same engine as the Mk4 R32 and the r32 has the same steering set up - the audi tt pops out another 10 bhp than the r32 and most of them have dsg gear boxes which the mk4 r32 never had - how do i know this ? well took my r32 up to 145 mph with a 3.2l audi tt(on a private road of course) and there was nowt in it which should be the case as mechanically they are almost the same car - but it was hairdresser verses vw enthusiast so you take your pick !!!!!!! but heah as is always the case in stories of well

where's the mk2 gti 16v ? surely that deserves a wee mention !!
-
i drove down from near sheffield and the queue was silly so came back empty handed !! hope those that did get in enjoyed themselves ..... !
-
hello mate ... i recently sold my p plate highline standard apart from upgraded suspension to a colleague at work for about £ 2.5k - this was in line with parkers price guide and at end of the day a car is only worth what someone will pay - not what the owner thinks it's worth - if you look on autotrader these cars are advertised by small time traders for about £ 2.5k so you shouldn't be looking to pay more than that - at end of the day it's a great car but expensive to run and unless your a good mechanic if it has an imminent chain change it's a very big bill for an old car at end of the da

heah there's a fantastic one in the for sale section - totally original and great pics ... errrrmmmm it's mine acutally lol -
yes great looking car - reminds me of when they first came out and i really wanted one but couldn't afford the insurance or price !!! nearly 10 years later got one ! good luck selling it and don't let it go for a song - i'm sure someone out there will pay a wee bit more than the book price for you
