  1. Not sure about the engine cover yet. Also not sure which clocks he is putting in. He did originally say he could just add the gubbins behind the C clocks to get around the immobiliser, but I did mention that the Golf ones looked better Either way Im not to bothered.
  2. Got some new pics. The engine has been painted, as has the gearbox. It has also had the drive by wire pedal fitted. Also check out the front engine mount which had to be made 8) The engine has been fitted on the mounts, and all that is needed now is the wiring finished, new downpipe to be fabricated and away we go. Cant wait
  3. antera309 Golf management is being used mate.
  4. Drive by wire from the Golf, but not 100% about the management???? I'm leaving it down to Andy who's doing the work.
  5. Corrado VR6 = Peak power 190bhp (140kW) at 5800 rpm Peak torque 181lb ft (245Nm) at 4200 rpm Golf V6= Peak Power 204bhp Peak Torque 199lb ft The main difference is low down apparently, and its a lot smoother due to VVT. There isnt much difference in speed between the C and the Golf, in fact the C is quicker, so I reckon it will be even quicker now due to the weight difference that the engine has to cope with.
  6. Cheers mate Cant wait to get it back. I'll be at some of the meets this year with her too 8)
  7. Theres a few guys with the conversion already on the corrado forum (see PVW for Jay Renshaws car) and the main problem is the exhaust as it has twin cats with 4 probes in it. Andu is having to fabricate a custon downpipe to add the probes and to fit the VR. He is taking pics as he goes along, so I will get some posted up here. Apart from that, there is a bit of rewiring needed, but the engineitself is pretty much a straight swap and uses the same mounts and even the same hoses.
  8. I dont think so mate, though I havent seen it myself
  9. Hi all Havent been on for a while. As the title says Im getting a V6 4motion engine fitted in place of my VR, as it needed rebuilding which would have cost nearly the same ( Anyway, the car has been in since just before xmas with Andy Walkers (formerly of Awesome) PSI Tuning in Newcastle Under Lyme and Im hoping to get it back in the next week or two. Here are some pics of the VR and Golf where he was up to last week. He is currently cleaning the engine bay and new engine and sorting out the loom. Cant wait to get it back !amazed !amazed !amazed !amazed
  10. Is this going anywhere? Is someone arranging a meet???
  11. Stan. Originally from Swansea, currently living in Preston, and visit S. Wales 3-4 times a year, mainly Newport or Swansea. Got mates at the Angel pub in the Port I'll be back down for Xmas and New Year
  12. 94 Corrado VR6 My Alt is F*CKED!!! Its not being regulated and the voltage being kicked out could power the hubble!!! Problem is I'm in Preston and it was fitted in Norwich. However I'm going back there on Friday, so I need to take the Alt with me. This is where I need help: How do I remove it? Is there a guide anywhere? Do I have to remove the slam panel? Or can it be done through the headlight hole? Cheers Stan
  13. Cheers. I think it may be sorted anyway, may have a coil pack engine?? Not 100% I'll need it yet anyway. Kev, whats going on with the C forum mate? I havent been able to log in all day. (stanbates) Spoke to Gav (h100vw) earlier, and he cant either.
  14. I have a C. So how ould I go about changing it over? My engine has the coil, the new one has the dizzy.
  15. Can an engine with a Dizzy be swapped with one with a coil pack? Can the parts be swapped over? Its for a Corrado 2.9, been offered a low miler but it has a dizzy and mine has a coil. Cheers Stan
  16. Cheers for the link mate, however, the noise on my car comes from the rear left, so I dont think its the shifter rod, but I will know for future reference The car is in the garage and hopefully should get looked at soon, so as soon as I know the score I will post details on here. Thanks for looking anyway, Stan
  17. Get yourself down to trading standards!!! they'll sort it and get your money back for you. Ive used trading standards before, and they really are good, and free!!
  18. Well its in the garage now. Upon first hearing it they reckon its the hyd lifters, we'll see. Is it a big job? What sort of time and money is involved???
  19. Its a small garage, and would rather not bad mouth them yet, in case they sort it and it is just a genuine problem. I will keep you updated though.
  20. No mate, its defo inside somewhere. Although I have got some history. The lad I bought it from (I know him) had the bottom end go a few months ago due to a burst pipe. He had it repaired at a garage (on the cheap), and also the head was skimmed and the gasket changed. Its only since then that this has happened, 300 miles after the work. Ive had a mate look at it with me, and we both seem to think there is something loose somewhere ie nut or bolt. So, I am now going to have to get it towed back to Norwich, and get the f*cking cowboys to get it sorted!!! Its already been back in once for t
  21. Ok, changed the f*ucked leads which were held together with insulation tape!!!!! Mad The noise is still apparent though. It doesnt however seem to be the cylinders. It sounds more like the exhaust outlet at the back of the engine before the exhaust. It sounds like a loose item rattling, or something knocking and it gets worse with revs, and sometimes goes completely quiet for a few secs. is there anything that could have come loose? Any ideas? Anyone near Blackpool/Preston who could lend an expert ear?
  22. Im gonna try some new leads and plugs, if it doesnt work???? I'll have to get someone out I think
