My VR Project - Finally finished!
VR-Six replied to VR-Six's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
Cheers again for all the comments m1keVR: yeah everything is controlled by solonoids and luckyily i havent had any probs with them - even wen my battery died earlier this year i still managed to get in! jonno: the colour is from another manufacturer (outside the VW range) and i saw it on a car on my way down to e38 last year and instantly knew that was goin to be the one! But it turns out that there are 3 different types of this color and although id checked and double checked the paint code, the color iv got isnt actually the one id wanted The color has definitely grown on me tho. -
My VR Project - Finally finished!

Thanks for the comments guys! Always good to hear other peoples views The bumper is the JOM R32 style from Venom-I was goin to go for the Mattig clean look bumper but hav seen it on so many cars i thought id giv this 1 a try instead. The cars riding on Koni coilovers so theres still plenty of lowering to be done! On the inside its got a full leather retrim in blue with silver piping and a matching blue dash. I know that not everyone is a fan of the blue dash (neither was I!) but i hav to admit that now with the paint color it actually looks quite nice. Would've liked to get down to the rr day -
Hi all - just thought id post up some pics of my car after being in the bodyshop. Like to hear everyones thoughts and opinions on how it looks. I posted a previous thread showing the car before and during the makeover headed 'My VR Project - Work in Progress' if you want to see how it used to look. I've tried to go down a different route with the styling and i think it works quite well. There are some small things that id like to change but couldnt at the time as they just werent in my budget (namely the exhaust and the alloy heatshield on the rear bumper) but other than that im well chuffed!

Possibly Driveshafts? (nope wheel bearing)
VR-Six replied to Ferrari VR6's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Hi Dave - My left-hand front driveshaft gave way a few months ago on the outboard side. Basically i knew somethin was wrong but about 20miles before it happened my gearstick would clunk everytime i lifted off the clutch when driving. When it gets to that point you know its gonna break! But I had the same clunkin/cracking sound when breaking and driving slowly and also when taking sharp corners. Now the driveshaft has been replaced I still have the same clunking coming from the right-hand front wheel and still haven't got to the bottom of it!! Can you feel the clunking/cracking through the stee -
Thanks VRMonster! Yeah, Im definitely gettin rid of that diffuser- bit too Max Power if you know what I mean!! The front bumper is actually being replaced as the one pictured was in a pretty bad state! As the car hasn't changed since R&A had it, its been a bit of a task trying to work out what to do to bring the car back up with the current trend and without breakin the bank of course!! Really lovin your car VR - bet its shocked a few people on its travels!! Nice and understated and im sure it packs a punch!! Who did the engine work btw?

Thanks for all the comments guys! VR6Rich- the wheels are actually Keskin MT1's 8x17 ET 30. Got them from German ebay (always a good place for parts!!) but they've gotta come off soon for the long old winter months! Goin to see the car again on Saturday so I'll post some more pics then - should all be ready for paint by then!! Thought I'd post a pic of the rear bumper after alot of smoothing! I'll keep you all posted

Thanks for the comment Pittuf! I know the car is probly not to everyones taste but when its finished should look VERY different! Yeah the car didn't look too bad to start with but the mods it had were done I think in 1999 so i really wanted to bring it up to date. Plus there was a fracture across the paint where the door handle had been flushed and some bubbling around the aero filler cap and numerous other bits and pieces needed touchin up. Hopefully be able to show you the finished article next Wednesday - I hope anyway!! I'll keep you updated with how its goin.

Hi all! Just thought I'd post some pics of my car for you guys to look at. I've put a couple of pics of it before it went to the bodyshop and then a couple of pics of the work in progress. I've owned this car for almost 2 years now (originally it was R&A's demo car) and have been meaning to get it sorted for a while!! Now its finally in the bodyshop and time seems to be goin VERY slowly!! The list of mods is rather long and icludes ALOT of smoothing and new paint!! I'll be postin some more pics when its complete (hopefully nxt week!!) and would like to get everyones opinion on how it lo

Afternoon all! I've found a good deal on a front set of Audi TT 225 brakes and just want to know a couple of things before buying them. I've read the detailed forums and links about fitting them to a mk3 VR6 but just have a couple of questions: The brakes i've found come with the following: 2x OEM Brake disks (312mm x 25mm) - 2x OEM Brake Calipers - 2x OEM Brake Caliper Carriers - 2x Pair OEM Brake Pads 1) Are there any parts not listed here that I would need for the conversion (other than spacers)? 2) Is this conversion a fairly straight forward swap? 3) Is this conversion possible for

Clunking When Braking - Warped Brake Disk??
VR-Six replied to VR-Six's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Thanks for all your advice guys! Ultimate Tune - I can feel it through the steering wheel when turning right and it definitely is a metallic clunking noise. I'll have the CV joint and wheel bearing checked to see if this is the problem. Id hav been really pissed if i ordered some new brake disks and pads to find that they weren't the problem in the first place!!! My cars goin in to the bodyshop for a serious restoration/makeover and i just want the thing running as sweet as the engine is before it goes!! Again thanks for everyones help!! -
I need some help from some people who actually know their stuff about VW's - unlike the mechanics i have been seeing lately!! I had some Black Diamond brakes and predator pads fitted to my VR ('92 -280mm setup) last year and all has been going well until about a month ago when a strange grinding/clunking noise started coming from the front drivers side wheel/brake when i slowed down at junctions. This noise is also happening when taking right hand turns or bends and i can actually feel it through the brake pedal. The noise is pretty loud when coming to a junction and it seems to happen with ea

Cheers for the advice - do I need to take the door cards off to remove the tints??

Bascially Ive been given 7days to remove the front driver and passenger side window tints and would like some advice as to how much this should cost?? The tints were put on my car 5 yrs ago and now Im having to pay
