Does anyone know how hard it is to fit a new auxillary belt on the left hand side of the engine? Mine's slightly cracked and I realise the belt prob won't be many £££'s from my local dealer. Bought an engine manual off ebay a while back which suggests the engine needs removing partly to get to it all... Has anyone managed to do one themselves? Also have Golf Vr6's got heated washers? Noticed two wires goin to each of the jets on the bonnet on mine the other day... Got an original 96' model sales brochure but that doesn't mention it... Cheers Rob

If it isn't the seat.... Mine's been creaking/squeaking for nearly a year now. I was sure it was coming from behind the b-post finisher and had it all off at the weekend. Only to find it was the door slam pin. The plastic collar on it was squeaking and must have been using the car interior as a sound box! Put a dab of motorbike chainlube on it and went for a drive... Ahhhh silence. For now...

Bought mine with 72k on, its just turned 87 this weekend. Got some new plugs to put in it sometime, had to replace a cv boot on sat that destroyed itself on a top speed run last week. It was only a cheap one mind, got a double hard vw one on now...

Think my speedo is definately out now... Since i put 17's on the golf i've had a feeling the speedo's been under-reading. Tested it against my girlfriend's 53reg punto a while back and at 70 on her speedo mine was reading about 65. Went to the Dub Preservation meet near york last thurs night and had a play on the way back with my mates mk2 G60. Flat out on the way home i managed to crawl past him with my speedo showing just under 150. When we got back he said his was reading just under 245kmh which works out over 150 when i passed him. Fastest i've got is a 5.31 in the Bentley. 5.33 is a fast time mate what was that in? Tried again the other day in the F1 car but it won't stay on the road!

It seems to be coming from behind the passenger b post finisher (where the adjustable seat belt height is) and its definately some plastic on plastic rubbing. Sometimes (usually when its really warm weather) its really quiet or not there at all, most of the time its well loud and drives me mad. Does anyone know the easiest way of removibng the b post finisher without damaging it...? 8o|

Any more challenges on the GT4 Nurburg? What about the HPA Turbo? Or the W12 Nardo? The slower cars are cool the race cars give me a headache twitching about all the time!!! hee hee Maybe i'll learn how to successfully post pics by then!!!
