I'm still ok to come down, but if there are only gonna be 2 of us, it seems like a bit of a wasted journey, :S anyone still up for it?

Sorry fella, smack bang in the middle of me moving house :@ !!!! been itching for a meet too :-( Shame you couldn't do next weekend.....23rd

Hey, be great if something a bit more regular was organised, be happy to travel to Roundhay. The guys up this way need to be able to plan things a bit more in advance as we have a distance to travel, if we knew it was to be lets say, the first Sunday of each month, then I'm sure we could get a good group together.. keep me informed and I can pass on the info.

Hey guys, whats up? Been looking forward to getting down to Leeds again after missing the June meet, but it's gone quiet.. is there gonna be a meet planned during August sometime? Scraped some support from local owners around my area, and all are up for a roadtrip down.. Be good to get together..

Hey guys, finally managed to get on the old 'puter... Just wanna thank you all for making me feel welcome, worth the trip down from Durham. Good to meet some fellow owners at last, and I will defo be back again. If I can get some support from up here, I will bring them too. I have also decided that the pennies need saving, and a charger aquired...that motor sounded SWEEEET! See ya again, and if any of you fancy a road trip up to my neck of the woods, you're more than welcome. asta la vista -
name a date at Leeds and I'll be there mate. Hope you get one sorted soon.

I think someone must have drawn a line accross the country just north of Leeds & York.. It all seems to be going on at Squires & The Peacock. I don't mind travelling down if any meets are planned, but it would be good to see some action a bit further north. I have already posted suggestions in the past for meets around Teesside or Durham areas, but nothing comes of it. All we need up here is one meet to get us started, c'mon, there must be some VR owners thinking of getting out..? Please post your locations and if you are up for a meet and maybe we can get something sorted.. soon be S

Integra TypeR chewed my a*se, I was needing to change gear, but he just kept on revving..each gear change he pulled away. It was modded, and I could have climbed inside the exhaust!! Nearly deafened me while he was alongside. Thing is, as we came to traffic (on dual carriageway) I lifted off, he just carved through at 120+ like an idiot...nearly took out some poor guy who panicked and pulled over as he raced up the inside. Blitzed MR2 turbo to 60 from lights though, no good at low revs it seems, fists full of torque do it for me anytime

Vr owners in the North East..WHERE ARE YOU!!
sinclair replied to sinclair's topic in Previous Events
Welcome Mark. Hope you enjoy owning your VR. How about some details or pics? Trying to get a meet organised, be great if you could make it. Give you a chance to see other members cars, and pick their brains if you have any questions. If you have any ideas for a good location stick a reply in the thread for North East meets. Enjoy -
Thought this topic deserved a new thread. Hoping to gather some local support for regular meets around the North East,August Bank Holiday perhaps, to kick things off? Could alternate locations so each area can host one, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Scarborough, that way it helps with travelling, and gives us all a chance to have a local meet. Suggestions on locations please. Middlesbrough could be either Teesside Park, or Tees Barrage car park (At Beefeater pub) Once I gather some names of members interested, and locations then we could confirm dates and times.

I agree with you Chris, York is fine for those from the Yorkshire area, I was trying to think of somewhere near Durham, then it won't be too far to travel. Anywhere up your way Chris? -

Sounds like some interest in a meet, :-d good stuff. Bank Holiday is comin up soon, how about that for a date to get the ball rolling? Weather should still be good, and it gives us a couple of weeks to rustle up some support. Meeting point suggestions anyone? Clifton Moor mentioned already, cheers apd -
Vr owners in the North East..WHERE ARE YOU!!
sinclair replied to sinclair's topic in Previous Events
Somewhere central to all the north east members would be ideal, got quite a few from the Scarborough area, so York would be good for them, The lads from Durham area, and Sunderland, and obviously myself and those around Teeside would probably prefer somewhere more local. Appreciate your thoughts on this, if we start getting some popular suggestions of meeting points then perhaps we could start to arrange things. Try and encourage some of the Non-Forum members who drive VR's, keep spreading the word Chris Vr6nos -

sinclair replied to sinclair's topic in Previous Events
Sure..if you'll have us. Got the date wrong mind you!! meant the 16th. Hope to gather some support from around the Teeside/County Durham area -
Ok guys, I know there are a few VR's knocking about the north east. How about meeting up for a road trip to Leeds this Sunday? If you fancy it, post a reply, and we can arrange somewhere for everyone to meet up and travel down.

Help smoking when changing down!!!!!!!!!
sinclair replied to john1980's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I get a similar thing happen to mine, don't know what sort of area you live in, but I have a fair few steep hills to contend with. When coasting down in 2nd or 3rd gear using engine braking only, I get a cloud of Blue/white smoke when I get back on the throttle, but it is only for a second or two, then clears. It doesn't smoke the rest of the time!! Valve stem oils seals have been done, suggested it could be a breather hose blocked? I also have a Sebring exhaust!!! *-) -
Spoke to my insurers, and they upped the offer from £600 to £1100, still not happy so sent examples of VR's for sale etc..now at £1400!!! getting closer, but still written car off. Just gonna phone them now. Thanks again for all the support and good advice guys.

Nice one guys, thanks for all the support, and advice. Lets hope it works. I'm not giving up my VR without a fight!! (6)

Estimate was £1600, from approved repair shop. I know it can be done for less, but if they got the value of the car correct it is still within the 80% that they allow for repairs. Already got some adds for ventos, all £2000 and over which I am going to send to them. Cheers for the advice guys.
