  1. Please read "INSURANCE WARNING" thread in General Insurance/Recovery chat :-( :-(
  2. Has anyone had a similar experience, if so what did they do? THEN... :-d Paid £2600 for A1 condition Vento VR6 last May. FSH, K+N, S/S Sebring exhaust. Fair price I thought. Insured it with Liverpool Victoria, fully comp, Full NCD protected, £400, on a car valued at above price. NOW... :-( Minor accident (rear ended, so not my fault) Not a massive amount of damage, deformed bumper, bent exhaust, creased boot floor. Insurance company write of car as uneconomical to repair, and offer me £600!!!!! :@ Apparently this is the valuation in the Glasses guide. How can I persuade them that VR6's h
  3. Parker price guide shows M reg private, in good condition as £1000 approx!!! like to know what value insurance companies place on VR6 Vento's coz it doesn't match up with the true sale values. *-) Not seen one in same condition as mine for under £2000 This is in wrong thread I know. :-# :-*
  4. I paid £2600 for an L reg VR Vento a year ago, FSH, 84000 miles excellent condition. It has now covered 106000 miles, serviced every 3-4000 miles, good quality fully synthetic oil etc. Involved in a minor bump (wasn't my fault :@ ) which resulted in a deformed rear bumper, creased boot floor, and buckled s/s Sebring exhaust (no longer fits brackets) The Insurance company is refusing to repair *-) and want to write the car off. I am after some values for a car of this standard, coz I don't believe that it should be a write-off, plus the fact I'm gutted that I could lose the car!!! Can anyone h
  5. Screen shot ( :S I hope) Having problems uploading to thread :@ http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y300/DanSinclair/IMG_0658_2000xaa.jpg
  6. Trying to upload image, 6'48.094 so far!!
  7. Any mods u like...in the end it comes down to how u set the car up!! Got the brakes sorted, now tweaking the dampers and toe angles, getting a bit technical, but it seems to be working :S
  8. Not sure if this image will load, so this is just a test.[link]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y300/DanSinclair/R32500x333.jpg
  9. Managed to break the 7 min barrier, (6'59.150) but by the time I got back online, you'd already set a better time. Nice one. Car still drifting too much, bit more tweaking to do!! having problems posting image links though :-(. This was on a clean lap, no offs, and two bars of NOS left, so there is room for improvement. Bring it on!! :-p
  10. 7'06.044. :-# ...with or without NOS!!
  11. 7'06.044. :-# ...with or without NOS!!
  12. warming my fingers up now. R32 with unlimited mods? I enjoy a challenge
  13. I know the area bud, nice to know there are more vr's about. What you got, 'rado, golf or vento?
  14. Lucky you live where you do...Teeside is full of little P***ks in modded saxo's and corsa's who spend all night racing there 1.1s with half a ton of body kit on. My VR has the side sill badges and grill badge only. Removed rear so when they come up behind they have no idea whats lurking under the bonnet. Like Kevhaywire, I play the nonchalent game, 8) let them struggle to get alongside thinking they are winning, then twitch the throttle, and See Ya Later. !lol
  15. Don't mind the VR boys spicing things up a bit, its the GTi's and TDi's ~ that always seem to sit on my arse or try for the undertake just to say they got in front of a VR!!! As If!! It's great when they realise they ain't a match once the old right foot falls to the floor.
  16. This seems to be a more common fault in vento's than golf's...it sounds like the same problem I had with the same wheel. If it sounds more like a rubbery creek at slow speeds, and only on part of the wheel rotation, and a grinding noise on lock at speed, especially constant turns like going round a roundabout it is more likely to be the hub, not majorly expensive, and the job means replacing the wheel bearing too. Bonus . Dont throw money at the car changing brakes, bearings etc I recommend trying the hub first. Good luck.
  17. Hey guys...great to know there are at least a few VR's knocking about. .perhaps think about meeting up some time..leave location suggestions up to you.
  18. £416 Fully comp, full ncd with Frizzell for a Vento 2.8, mods add less than £100 to this price!! (that includes fitting a charger!! )
  19. Nice one..I'll look out for you. I'm in Eston area so pretty close. Hope you enjoy the car..once you own a VR you'll never want anything else.
  20. Nice look..deffo keep the wheels dude. Good to see another Vento.
  21. I'm in Middlesbrough mate, I know of another member who comes from the Guisborough area. Seems like Scarborough is the place to be if you have a VR eh? Nice to know I'm not alone up here.. !amazed
  22. CAD/CAM Engraver, and motorsport illustrator in my free time.
  23. It certainly seems grim up north..most of the action seems to be happening around Leeds at the mo. :? How come there seem to be so few VR owners up here!? Time to crawl out of the woodwork and make yourself known, it's a ball-ache having to travel out of the region just to meet fellow dubbers! If we get enough, perhaps we can start to arrange regular meets, instead of having to share with the Saxo's and Corsa's ( that seem to plague the local car parks!!!
