    No worries. I've worked it out. I think I lost a clip at the TB end and it had slid to it's slackest position.

    Hi peeps, another GTi rather than VR6 problem, but I'm sure the solution must be similar. My pedal sits just above the floor at rest and whilst cleaning my TB I realised that the butterfly was barely 1/4 open when my foot was to the floor. How do I adjust/tighten the throttle cable? There seems to be a lever attached to the pedal which disappears behind the center console. Merry Christmas TG.

    I don't know if they officially split, or just disappeared, but I'm off to see The Mission next Feb. There's no better why to celebrate a (nearly) 40th birthday then going to see some peeps looking really decrepit ;-)

    Interesting thread. Only just found it and it applies to mine as well. I've taken to letting it warm up standing. If it happens on the road it does seem to 'flood' easier which makes it much harder to restart. No coil pack on mine and I've cleaned throttle body & ISV ( long over due ! ) No codes error codes so will try new sensors. TG

    I'm in two minds about APNR. Sure I appreciate it's use in getting uninsured and/or unroad worthy cars off the road and in fact would like to see more checks. But strongly disagree with the fact that the scans are kept on record indefiantly even if the computer says my car is 100% legitimate.

    Mmmmm, that's a very straight looking MK2 for £500. Hope it comes together sooner rather than later . You don't want to be rushing to get it ready for Easter in case you miss something important!
