    Snobbery

No, as long as the GTi owners know there place ;-) There is the occasional comment about GTi owners trying it on against VRs. Especially in regards to why people debadge their VR6s! But seriously, I've never noticed any snobery, they're all VWs at the end of the day. We have several members who own both and a few more who are back in GTis after writing off their VR6s. TG
  2. The list supplied with my code reader can be downloaded here. http://www.auteltech.com/images/DTClibrary.zip TG
  3. OK, so I wasn't out and running before Pete stopped. But he did stop very, very quickly and I had to rely on conventional brakes! Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up seeing how close I was to T-boning the club chairman as he was sideways across the track. It also explains why I never saw the scooby go past, I was too busy looking for my flag. I've now got JPs footage of him arriving at the scene as well, but it will be some time before I can do anything with it.
  4. I found one of mine in someones Ed38 gallery, I was well chuffed, except it showed my actually cleaning the car and dressed in white, heaven forbid. TG
  5. It doesn't say, but I expect so as they won't want the site staff looking after what could be a large amount of cash.
  6. It's looking like I will be able to make it. My onward house move has been put on hold, indefinitely :@ Camping at Inters might not have the novelty it once had! TG
  7. You OK to take your gas BBQ, Kerry? Look on it as a small scale trial run before the Billing weekend
  8. After I first flew and rented a car there, both of my cars back home had stickers on for upto 18months before they made the journey themselves. How does that fit into your anology?
  9. Around 2 I'm guessing. Do you wanna meet on the way?
  10. For those who will be camping in the official GTI International camp site ( http://www.autometrix.co.uk/html/gti07/camping.html ) please could you reply stating which nights you will be there, how many peeps and what size of tent(s) to give some guide to how much pitch we need to nab on Friday afternoon. The Goth; Friday & Saturday; 1 three-man dome tent. Cabrioman; Friday & Saturday; 1 three-man dome tent. Earwig & Dub-Donna; Friday & Saturday; large dome tent. Absy; Satuday; Arena size tent ;-) Blondie; Satuday TG
  11. Technically it's K plate and newer, so late '92 on.
  12. Hiya, To quote the Bentley Manual "Testing and adjusting the pressure-regulating fuction requires measuring brake system pressure at each wheel caliper, using two pressure gauges with a range of at least 160bar ( 2320psi). Becuase of the need for this specializes equipment, we recomment having this test performed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer." I havent had any problems since my Highsports went on. The diagrams indicate a tension spring between the regulator lever and the chassis, could you have damaged / lost that whilst working on the suspension? TG
  13. I finish work in three hours until after the Bank Holiday and the weather is looking good. Bring it on!
  14. The Kettering pick-up has been set as Tescos (NN15 6XB), just off A14 @ J9, 8:15
  15. Done. I did find that both the GTI International booking form and the campsite site as a whole didn't like FireFox. The Inters main booking form is now secure, and always was albeit in disguise. But I can see NO security in the campsite booking form. Just looks like a PHP page to me. w w w.bigwheelentertainments.co.uk/gti_booking.htm To be safe I'm gonna book by phone! TG
  16. I'm booking for the stand tomorrow. Ebay'd my MUSE tickets this morning so I can now make it all weekend.
  17. Note: Dub-Donna is without internet until, hopefully, this Friday
  18. Well over the weekend I found out that my first choice of venue is hosting the Cambridgeshire County Show on the sunday in question, so time for another plan. However, I'm as yet unsure if I'll be able to make it that weekend ( my house move has gone a bit Pete Tong ) and if I am free I'll be based in Luton so can make it North easily. So my plan B, if peeps are up for the BBQ idea, is Wicksteed Park. £3 parking but they do have a dedicated BBQ area these days.
  19. ooops, Sorry Mark. Both your brake threads showed up as the same on my PC so I moved one to the trash can and can't get it back without Pete's help.
  20. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?153082 So far we've done, Kettering, Northampton, PBro, Leicester and MK. Next one is due to be in South Cambs / North Herts. Not exactly Midlands we know but a reward for my dedication in getting my old VR to the other meets. As it's Summery, this one is possibly going to include a BBQ
  21. Yep, a well maintained one could go on 'forever' http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?173244.20
