  1. Technically it also applies to new plates fitted to older cars. But as PHM once said/wrote it's up to plod to prove the plates are new ;-) But either way 2B isn't restricted.
  2. as for fluid I'll speak up for ATE Racing Blue. It's only Dot 4 but it's colour helps to determine if all the previous fluid is out. It will last up tp three years and most importantly has a higher boiling point than normal. http://www.performanceoilsltd.co.uk/brake_fluid.html Eurocar parts used to sell it for around £10. They may still do but as it's not on the VW parts list is now impossible to find on their stupid web site
  3. although there so seem to be more retrictions on post 2001 cars or plates. But I'm guessing 2b is the style you are after.
  4. see page 15: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2001/uksi_20010561_en.pdf
  5. AFAIK perfectly legal. If in right font, spacing etc.
  6. Nige you after a std one?? if so i have one you can have.... yep a standard one. ditched mine when i got lifters but they don't work with the carbon.
  7. my passes arrived over the weekend. VR6OC club stand and camping.
  8. something like this? it's the gearbox mount
  9. does everything include leads? for the money yes. GSF and/or Eurocar do stock them. FYI there are two (slightly) different rotor arms.
  10. Good call. I''m thinking of going stealth.
  11. new to me too. It is true that mixing G11 and G12 coolant produces a nasty result: Caustic or acidic, not sure which. Which may be the seed behind your info.
  12. Hiya' date=' its showing normal running temps, it fluctuates between 72 on a run, and 88 when standing in traffic. The fans come on about 88 then it declines to around 80 whilst standing. if its the water pump, how would i tell? and where is the main pump situated? Cheers! [/quote'] In most caes if the water pump fails the water temp gets very hot as it doesn't get pumped through the rad. similairly if the the thermostat gets stuck shut. As an aside if the water temp is fluctuating the thermostat could be stuck open - or removed. main water pump is powered by the belt on the air filter end o
  13. it's always been VW only. The tickets provided by Abi last year where for any marque. But yeah, filling the VWs with people and VAGs with gear makes financial sense

  15. and golfrabbit was running Bosch when his imploded. Although i think the common denominator is the huge boost being run. saying that i'm running ngk iridium (ebay specials)
  16. the reset should have worked after 45 mins. normal procedure to retrain the ECU is to leave it idling, with all electrics off, until it gets up to temp, ie fans kick in. even without doing that though it ahould settle down over a number of starts / run cycles.
  17. when you say coil can I take it that you've got an early dizzy engine? or do you mean coil pack?
