Currys. but they are also available from PC World and Dixons. Advent is their group brand. Down side is no optical drive, so you will need all your music as MP3s already and barely over 2hr battery life with the stock 3 cell one. rumours are for a 6cell version to be available soon. Pros. small & light but with a near full size keyboard. works effortlessly with an external monitor. Last night I had it playing DivX movies on my 19" wides screen whilst using the small inbuilt screen to surf. Runs XP which is a good or bad thing depending on your view.
no recommendations. but I have just brought an Advent 4211 Netbook which does what I want and was only £280. what do you want it to do? As for insurance, a laptop of that price should be covered by your normal household contents insurance. extended guarantees are a rip as well. should come with a 1 or even 2 year manufacturers guarantee and frankly if it breaks after that buy a new one. they'll be half the price or twice the power - Moores law
with connecting wires that short there aren't a lot of places it will reach / fit, so I think you are right. but how to reattach it once the heads of the rivets have come off is a whole different question!
I think a more technical term is a load resistor. mine is loose as well. think it was riveted on and the circular feature you can just see by the bottom left of the resistor is one anchor point.
there is a 4 stage sequence listed in a small haynes guide available via this thread: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?151642 a small diagram at the bottom shows the order. no 1 being theo ne bang in the middle
at the end of the day it's the wheel power that actually 'gets you there' but the garage might be grateful to find out that there is something wrong in their new set up, or at least how they are using it ;-) though to be honest I'm surprised they didn't realise on the day as a 17bhp loss is so wrong.
rest assured, 140 at the wheels is about right 17.6 for the transmission lose looks very wrong, usually more like 40-50. giving a flywheel total of 180-190 torque maybe a bit low which I'd credit to the exhaust.
my top three would be: coil pack - very similar to the symptoms I had with a dodgy coil / final stage amplifier. Check for cracks lamda sensor - as suggested in this thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?185177 lazy lifter(s) - not working properly until the oil has thinned. mentioned in above thread as well. how long has it been doing it?
