  1. well it is metal so won't crack again. once it's on there's not a lot to see as it's hidden under the intake manifold. As you've only just got your car back I'd go for the quick fix. P.s. what was causing your running problem in the end?
  2. Surprisingly it looks quite nice but trial booked couple of 8 person villas for that weekend and it worked out at about 100 euros per person for the 4 days - it'snot bad considering but a fair bit more than the campsite effectively double. and would also introduce logistical problems when people pull out at the last minute. With the camp site, or even a hotel, each person can be in charge of their own bookings and don't inconvenience anyone if they then decide not to come. I'm assuming that an 8 person cottage is less than four times the price of a two person one. I think the guest house
  3. Details are in the premium members benefits forum under parts. I can't post a link as that would mean everyone could read it ;-)
  4. that fist link was for mk2s I've updated it to mk3s

  6. Was the engine running as the battery was loosing voltage with the new alt? How's your water temp and PAS behaving? Could the belt be slipping? I would have thought a short causing that sort of drain would be a firestarter. Try measuring the resistance between alternator and battery terminals
  7. Think more of it like I'm giving you chance to budget for the trip between now and then.
  8. Usually Easter http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?247048.last
  9. Although this is still months away we may as well get it up now so that people can make arrangements and save some money for the trip. Over Easter 2009 the VR6OC plan on taking their yearly pilgrimage to the Nurburgring in Germany. "The longest and most terrifying race track in the world." It fell in March in 2008 and was very, very cold but in 2009 it's 3 weeks later falling on Sunday 12 April. We will be looking to go out on Friday 10th April and return on Monday 13th April. Camping is E12 a day . No need to book camping as it's a big site. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152
  10. No' date=' apparently the rad is different no, just make sure you get pukka UK ones
  11. the numbers given for the VR6 are the same as those it calculates if you put in 174hp and 1180kg into the calculator. So I wouldn't trust any of them.
  12. sod the engine parts. did they leave my BITBurger?
  13. Bugger. Exactly not what you need at the moment. Do you think the big man upstairs has something against you.

yep that's right, filter/intake end of MAF. There should be a convenient bolt on the strut to fix it to. I did have to rotate my maf so the bracket would fit but I do have the chunky OBD1 type.
  15. yep, that's the OBD2 type. and the ebay OBD2 leads will work. one caveat is that the OBD1 ECU might not give up the same info as a full a OBD2 system. but will still give error codes at least. no worries, we are here to help.
  16. yeah its the 1st place any logically minded person would look;) the corrado's is even worse. it's underneath the gear stick surround!
  17. if u have a laptop all u need is the cable from ebay mine was £5 + £8 postage there is a free/shareware version of the VAG-COM software which does most, if not all, of what you need day to day.
  18. PHM could show them a thing or two!
  19. :^) The Ebay highline police are all well and good but as VR Dan is going to mod it anyway and is not trying to sell it does it matter if it is 100% or only 99.9% standard?
  20. A quick look at the exploded diagrams on EKTA show that it's a 'proper' V6 with two distinct banks of 3. My guess the 174bhp comes from the same DE tax laws as effected the VR back in the day.
