  1. bit of a difficult one. coupes normally have two doors and a boot rather than a tailgate. But we all agree that a corrado is a coupe but they have a tailgate rather than a boot. *-) perhaps a coupe has to have two back seats which can only be used by midgets ;-) wikipedia says http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupe
  2. The ECU supply relay is certainly going to be different. that's my thinking about the alarms, but I don't really know how they are wired or how they do what they do. *-)
  3. If it's not plugged into the loom / ecu anywhere it won't do a thing ;-) besides the standard immob allows the car to start and then kills it a second or so later. similar with the cobra. unless you've wired it back into the loom how can it immob? Numpty question to just cross the Ts and dot the Is. Did you swap the relays from the VR6 board or leave the GTi ones in place?
  4. You are right in thinking that the obd1 dizzy engine doesn't have an immobiliser and if you've replaced th entire loom and ecu - which you obviously have to - the GTi one will no longer be active. Did the CC have an after market alarm/immob as well? Where did you get the replacement coil from? Did you see the engine running before the conversion?
  5. Good job that man. Great to have you 'back'.
  6. well im pretty sure that u r more knowledgeable than me so i guess that u r correct here:) I wouldn't say that. No doubt someone will come along and put us straight.
  7. I've been running with leaky valve stem seals / guide wear for over two years. But do not show any of your other symptoms. My only symptom is a huge plume of oil smoke when I boot it after engine breaking / over run at junctions, roundabouts etc. P.s. In that time I haven't changed my plugs or even checked them for oil so can't say if that is significant.
  8. for want of a tenner + vat I'd say ECU supply relay. helped my 16ver when it had the similar symptoms
  9. I'm hoping to fit my small(ish) fold up one. Blondie never seems to travel without her portable gas one. Martin's car is allowed to transport dusty greasy bbqs so no doubt he'll have one and not to forget cabrioman who is very happy with his calypso inspired diy masterpiece so will be showing it off again. Either borrow a barbie and cook it yourself or try to strike it lucky like craggsy. there's an asda, or summit, in the retail park at the next / previous junction of the 45
  10. martin and sal are bringing the wii. don't know when they will be arriving. But I've got 'Ring 'practice' planned for Friday.
  11. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=stotfold&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=52.013904' date='-0.202281&spn=0.004913,0.01236&z=16&iwloc=addr nope
  12. Also better for Helen I suspect will be the services on roundabout at the A1 / A14 interchange? Or the Stotfold services at the end of the A1(M)?
  13. With GoonerSteve turning up later and Ben canceling due to his ankle it looks like just HVR6 and me at Tescos then. Don't forget peeps, we will have electric hook up - even if we have to pay for it ;-) - so bring your gadget chargers be it phone, camera etc.
