    yeah pump and belt was replaced in 02 along with belt would they have dont the tensioner aswell it was done at a dealership

    thats what i thought 1 of the 3 i think it had a new pump 2 years back i might be wrong how hard is nthe alternator to do or tensioner

    looking thee paperwork for my car its supposed to have £3000 spent on it around 2003 2004 but i cans see where the money has gone i can see why u call then stealers now.

    ive got a noise coming from the left hand side just above the alternator near the top sound increases with rpm and seems louder when the engine is cold sounds like a bearing or something can anyone help.

    right ive got the wheel bearing sorted, got 2 new front tyres bridgestones potenza re 040,s fitted and the tracking done now after all that it drives perfect apart from being boaty on the standard suspension. thank god im happy now. thx for all the suggestions on previous posts pple.

    so how do i get the drive shaft free from the wehhl bearing housing then any tricks.

    according to the paperwork and history of the car the both tie rods were done around i think 93 nor 94 but you know you cant trust the stealers i was in th vw dealer in maidenhead once and some bloke was complaining that after a service including brake fluid change he had an aa man check it and found it handent been changed but still got charged for it. the cheek. always mark up the parts there gonna change then check after i would.

    aka did you have any probs getting driveshaft out of housing also where did you get the bearing pressed at. also did you have any probs with tie rod thread keep turning making it akward to undo the nut.

    all went well untill i needed to undo the tie rod, i nearly got the nut undone then the thread started turning aswell so i ended up cutting the thread off now i need a new tie rod. next had to drill out the screw holding the brake disc on, if that wasnt enough the driveshaft wouldent pull out of the wheel bearing housing so i ended up getting wound up and beating shit out of it now i have to re tap the thread on the end and still havent got the driveshaft out of the housing yet. also noted that turning the driveshaft in the housing there doesent seem to be any roughness or tightness with the b

    how should i inspect the front wheel bearing i have tried to check it but after jacking one side then the ohter both wheels seem to spin freely i tried to rock both wheels top to bottom only to find no movement i know i can definatly hear droning whirring noise more evident between 20-30 and im sure i can feel it when braking and cruising through the floor pan i spoke to tony at automotive solutions a few times he took it up the road and confirmed that it was a bearing on its way out i just need to know what side tony also mentioned that if its done any damage to the hub i might need to replac

    coming from the intake hose to the rocker the round bit inbetween has broken clean off but doesent seem to affect the engine does it need doing.

    also does anyone else get a knocking noise when turning there steering wheel left to right.

    right ive got matching front tyres had the tracking checked twice once by automotive solutions and the camber checked once and its not out, but its still pulling left quite a bit, also i know ive got a front wheel bearing on its way out but not sure which side is there a physical check i can do. its doing my head in now.

    try looking at the coil pack in the dark u minght see blue sparks.
