    Sounds like your describing the secondary water pump. It's electric so will make a whizz sort of sound. It sit at the top right rear of the engine as you look from the front.

    Pull all the carpet, door sills and rubbers back. check for rusty holes

    Cheers for the links antera309, very much appreciated. Might go for a 2.9 bottom end, dunno if the 2.9 TB will be a striaght swap into an OBD2 system imo

    Got it checked over, started again this morning, but bottom ends fcuked, due to low/no oil. No obvious leaks, only checked level the other week, maybe should of checked it more regularly. No oil warning light, and for it to happen all of a sudden has confused me and the mechanic. Mine's a late N 95 OBD2 116000 miles, so looking for an engine to swap out ASAP. Anyone got a spare one going? Low mileage preffered, but anything considered. Only really looking for a bottom end. Planned on doing some head work anyway. Can I straight swap a 2.9 rado bottom end? antera309> I think you are right the

    Oh fcuk, oh fcuk,oh fcuk. Just drove my baby about 4 miles to get to a mate's garage, and........ Pulled up, had a quick look and listen over the engine, still making an awful noise from the left hand side of the engine, topped up the oil, went to start her again, then.... Engine bloody seized, plus terible electric burnig smell from the starter motor. :@ !ill ~ Sounds like I'm looking at a rebuild or transplant. Mechanic's gonna look at it proper 2moro. I'm expecting the worst. I'm so fcuking upset right now...
