Buy a Higline they have it as standard and some even have climate. I looked at two but they were bith ropey so didnt buy them. I even looked at turning mine to climate and I am up for a challenge and then decided it was a fruitless task,for just a few buttons when you could frig about with a temp sender or two and a few relays which is still a pain in the harris. I left well alone, to walk away is a good thing.

Right, I got it going....hurrah! I took the "chip" from the key and removed the pick up from around the barrel and put one inside the other, put the key in and it fired and held. Whatr this tells me is the loop is screwed and ive a new one on order (

mine also came up with key signal too low. i asked vw and they suggest the pick up around the ignition barrel was fecckt. The fault code 17989 ? was that from a snap on scanner or obd generic reader? Im gonna replace the pick up today and see what gives.One of the techies suggested leaving the key in the ignition(with it turned on for about 20 mins) as this clears the same fault on the later(99) passats. This thing is getting tedious now.Almost began to think i had put diesel in it.

Ive replaced it now and it doesnt make a sound and the wifes bum gets warm now !! lol -
Sitting in the car this morning waiting for the wife to come out and actually get in the car so we can leave for work. The car had been running for about ten minutes warming up like I try to do most mornings. The rear screen/mirrors were on as was her seat and then it started . CLICK CLICK click cccllliiiccckkkkkkk BUZZ CLICKK On off every few seconds , some ten seconds between em some two some two minutes then nothing. It dawned on me when I was driving home later that night that it was the heated seat relay flicking in and out or not as the case maybe. Is this clicking normal ? I've never he

I'm sorry to hear your woes but I came to a similar conclusion and now the only thing I'd replace my highline with is an M3 evo, it would have to die and become unrepairable for this to happen though. They dont make em like they used to ! lol

Hi Admin, I know im a new member to this site band and my first impressions are I think it works really well and it's easy to navigate. Everything's clearly labeled except for one thing.... The quick reply button in the forum is very faint and I always end up stoping the flow to search for it. If it could be made a little bolder it would be brill. What do you think ? Regards.
