Just get the heavy duty leads, had to rescue a mate last year and he got these string like cables out of the car. I found it funny as they looked like 12 volts would melt them. Anyway they didn't carry enough charge over from my battery so I showed him my heavy duty leads and his car started first time.

afternoon all, just wondering how do I go about checking the oil pressure on a corrado
-
Hi Steve Apart from fitting an induction kit and cleaning the hall sensor and checking on the chain runners on Saturday nothing. That said I think my oil pump is playing up going to have to check the pressure. Need to get my own VAG COM equipment.
-
cheers fella, Think I'll psrk it up until I can get it sorted, thanks for the advice Just means I will drive a 96 escort which is just such a come down from a VR.

Started to notice a weird sound @ 3 - 4k best way of discribing it is, metal meracas not as noticable @ standstill more so when driving, Should I stop driving it?

so thats what it is, funny thing is I changed mine less than six months ago when I did the coolant system overhaul, looks like I'l get another then. Still not got round to fitting the new radiator, thats looks fun. -
just seen this really shocked My thoughts go out to his family and lets hope he makes a full recovery http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/5365676.stm

I have tried not to but.......Iv'e gotta have a quick moan the media attention Man U got when Neville kissed his badge at the liverpool fans was stupid and he had to appologise. Nowhere near as much attention on Lehman tho, happy Man u have managed to win the easy games unlike Arsenal & Chelsea.
-
yeah agree about Liverpool In my opinion they have got one of the worlds best CM with Gerrard and they played him on the left for the first 60 odd mins,,, whats that all about??? Only a few things we can take from the game but did enjoy Lehman taking a volly right in his face.
-
As a Man U fan I'll take that on the chin, Must admit you deserved to win so can't complain much. But I thought Liverpool could of done us a favour playing a 10 men chelsea in the second half. Crouch should of made an apperance much earlier, Oh well can't wait for the re-match @ the Emirates First game Arsenal have beat UTD in eight games every team as the occasinal blip (Unless your Chelsea and spend 350 Mill)

thanks guys just didn't wont to kill the engine

Morning Everyone, I was driving onto the motorway yesterday 180 degree slip road and give it the beans, car was handling fine and half way through the corner the oil light comes on and a strange beeping sound. Oil level is on max and reguarly serviced. Is this the oil pump on its way out? Also see the brake warning light flicker on now and then, brake fluid level is spot on any ideas? Don't want to damage the engine so I am driving a crappy escort for now.

looking good, hope I can get mine to that standard one day

Nice one Kev, Impressive figures, don't think I'll be hitting them figures but it confirms the trip from Manchester to Stealth is well worth it. Want over 200 torque/BHP from BMC, Schrick, Cams, Manifold and zort
-
thanks for the offer but I can't wait to get the schrick fitted and feel the extra torque how come your changing the set up?
-
thanks for that think I'll be going for the BMC CDA as there is good feedback on this, With this combination I should be around the 220BHP mark don't ya think? apd you mention 264s but next year I plan to get the rado charged would the 264s work better or 268s Thanks
-
Afternoon All, getting my shrick fitted soon and was thinking what other mods would be worth doing @ the same time, after reading past posts 268 cams would match the schrick very well and a remap anything else I should consider? Cheers Mark
-
Hi Jez, This is a guide to remove the manifold on a corrado if this helps http://www.corrado-club.ca/mods/manifold.html Rgds Mark

If you are looking for somthing a bit different and not bothered about sporty looks to give a surprise at the lights what about a passat. *-) Ha Ha Ha I can here you all say, but the 4 litre W8 engine has 275 BHP as standard and a 0 - 60 time of 6.5 sec surely this could be tuned a little more and you've got a beast on your hands. This is what I am thinking when I need a family car with plenty of BHP and space. (not for a long time yet tho)
-
Cheers for that just2zang don't sound to bad thanks for explaining in the process of doing a full coolant system overhaul to bring running temps down might be a good idea to replace the radiator seeing as I need a new fan as i can't get the 3rd speed to kick in.
-
hi gents sorry to jump in I have recently changed to a lower temp thermostat and have seen cooler running temps but I tried testing the fan speeds 1 & 2 work ok when bridged but tried for the 3 speed (hovercraft mode) by bridging the black sensor from ther thermostat housing and nothing from the fan. Is that the correct senor for speed 3? Plus whats this uprated 3 pole fan switch sound like I could do with one.
