  1. Hi i have an old set of speedo clocks in the garage, just wanting to know if there is anyway of see what milage they are displaying without connecting to a car loom as i no longer have my golf. many thanks.
  2. yeah looked like that, i took it all apart today to look at it again. seems i had the bearing in the wrong side of the rubber bush. all sorted now though cheers
  3. yeah it all went back on the same way it came off. the only difference is the sleeve on the top of the coilover is a little thinner than the previous ones
  4. Hi all, just replaced my leaky front coilovers for some blue JOM ones, i seem to have a problem though. when i lower the car down the piston comes up out the top of the turret and protrudes so much that i can not sht the bonnet. i put them on the same way i had my old ones on but now this has happened??? any ideas guys cheers
  5. They are £113 plus vat from GSF or £118 plus vat from Euro carparts. they normally have them on the shelf in stock aswell, i had to buy one on saturday for my car as it was running real bad. but all is well now and has never run better
  6. could be the coil pack mate, try one from a known working car if you know anyone with a vr6 first though before you shell out for one..
  7. 4 pin is for the dash guage and 2 pin for ecu. i have just changed both of mine..
  8. finally sorted it turns out it was the coil pack. £130 from GSF and now running good. why is it always the last thing you change seems to be the cause of the problem???? Ie changed the MAF no change both temp sensors no change although both of these were comming up on vagcom as intermitant, then finally a coil pack some £180 quid later....
  9. ive replaced the blue 2 pin one and still had the fault so changed the 4 pin still the same will not clear. i have checked the loom and all seems to be in order. my runs really lumpy when its warmed up i belive this is down to the ecu thinking the car is still cold an the choke is still on when the car is clearly warm, i think thats why it runs lumpy. anyone else have any thoughts or any sugestions on how to fix.
  10. i have changed both the 4pin and 2 pin sensors but still have the fault on vagcom.. the car runs really lumpy when warmed up in the low rev range. i have checked the loom all seems ok. im now stuck as to what it could be
  11. yeah cant do that as it was a exchange old for new at GSF.. such is life
  12. cheers for the reply mate, i have changed both the 4 pin sensor and the 2 pin. reading lots on here seems to be pointing me towards a new coil pack me thinks. shame i have just bought a new MAF when it proberly wasnt needed.
  13. my car is running really lumpy in the low rev range, worse when it warmed up. i have changed the plugs leads, vagcom the car said collant temp switch was intermitant and air flow sensor was intermitant . changed them both still no change although faults have not come back on vagcom. i have removed the coilpack to inspect no visable signs of any cracks and looks in good condition. i am running out of ideas as to what it could be. car was running bad before plug and lead change so thought it was that.. any sugestions as to what else to look into would be helpfull.... :-(
  14. many thanks have a new one gonna try and do it tomorrow
  15. hi i have vagcom my car and had the following fault, coolant temp sensor intermitant. does anyone know where it is located on the engine and how much to replace it. many thanks sorry its for a OBD1 1994 VR6....i have been looking on here and looks like there are 2 types one for the ECU and one for the guages. my guage is working fine so presume its the ECU one.
