I'm trying to insulate my inlet manifold as much as possible from the heat transfer via the lower manifold... So I made a couple of gaskets from cork and then tried nitrile. I then got a k-type thermocouple out and taped them to the back of the gasket and put it on the radiator (which was at 60C) to see how much heat came through... I found that both cork and nitrile were 10 degrees cooler than the metal gasket, but both maintained a temperature of 50 deg C... even when I doubled the thickness of the cork gasket, it eventually reached 50C, alebit it took longer to do it... In conclusion, anyon
