    Defo a driveway job - if you can change engine oil, you can do box oil. The box oil stinks to hell and back thrice so get some rubber marigolds and a tool like this (http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZviw2227QQhtZ-1) from ebay. Some synth fluid aint much £££ from a factors and it'll be well worth it. Swap the oil over, drive round the block, park somewhere level and open the filler plug and fill it till it overflows, then put the plug back in. Sounds WAY more complicated than it is - it'll take about an hour to do in total if you take it real slow.... Quick guide here http://www.gti-vr6.net

    Who's got any links to private individuals VR6 related websites? There's one that I can think of that's loaded with info and a dark grey background (just cant remember the name of it!) Anyone got any they want to share with us?

    Sorry - forgot all about this - got a reading of 151 on a full throttle 2nd gear run so looks the same as yours At least these cars dont go through MAF's like the 1.8T's do!

    Check the earths - a slightly dodgy one will result in a lower reading

    Nice one fella - I've got a crack in mine so will need it replacing soon. Happy to put down a deposit on one of these as I know what it's like - people back out when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets, but if they are plug and play and better than OEM and around 100quid, I'm in!!!

    Yeah, I've put a pipe on a front caliper to the slave cylinder before (on another car) and back bled it - the only thing which worked!

    I had an acceleration test from 20mph to 80mph on an airfield (it was!) against a remapped Leon Cupra (to 220hp) in my bog std vr6 and there was s0d all in it upto about 70 when he started to pull away. Not given the fact that the Golf cost 2k and the Cupra 10k+

    Done it You definitely need a pick thing - there are 8 clips as shown on the pic below. Just pull the clips back and the mirror will pull out

    Just a suggestion to try before servers are swapped, I've seen this before (on 306gti6.com) and if the front page summary stats are disabled, the site speeds up drastically! Dont know how this works on this site, just an idea

    I've not even had the car a week and I keep on finding problems!!!! Can someone take a photo of the wiring connector behind the abs light just by the headlight switch. I got no illumination at all on the panel, found the reason why - it's not connected to anything. Had the lower dash panel off and could see nothing at all resembling a spare connector, but dont really know what I'm looking for... Please - can someone just pull the light bit out and snap a photo for me please?

    Thanks for all your help - turns out that the RH cluster had a bad earth - all fixed now Just got to sort out the ABS light now - pulled the cluster bit from the dash and it wasn't plugged in and couldn't see the plug either!!!! No wonder it wasn't lighting up!!!

    Only had the car 2 days but got some PO85RD and a blue sonus pad from Tim @ CleanYourCar.co.uk and wanted to see what it could do... Firsly, washed and clayed the car using some 3M blue clay I imported from the states.
