  1. Your not wrong matey but i think this guy is from US. only reason being is he makes reference to his "VR6" but on his porfile info it states he drives a mk4: Mk4 GTI VR6 perhaps? more commonly known in the states. Fair point
  2. I didn't realise dur!!!! I pay about that a year with s 25 and a 32 year old on it!!!
  3. You class that as high for a 19 year old on a group 17 car?
  4. Had the OSF bearing replaced recently and i'm on 108k but I think there's another on it's way out soon...
  5. There are two under the headlight I belive
  6. I've got this so have ordered new ball joints and track rod ends as they are 110k old by now so can't be as good as original. Not expensive either - 35 quid for the 4 of them!
  7. True Thing is though, I've always wanted to drive it... Can't afford coilovers but could afford some lowering springs
  8. I'm interested but money is an issue (and I dont know any of you lol!)
  9. Did you remove the female chunk of plastic under the dashboard, or just feed the wires through a hole?
  10. Hullo, I'm doing a bit of investigation into how I can add an amp to power the front and rear speakers - only thing is I dont really want to use any of the existing VW OEM speaker cabling - I want to run OFC from amp to speaker direct. I've undone the wiring connector to the doors and looked at the white connector but I can't see a way of removing the section behind the fusebox. Anyone done this already and got some hints?
  11. Tried adjusting the door catches and it's LOADS better. Cheers folks
  12. Cheers for the reply - i've looked at it more closely and if you look down the side of the car, the door doesn't touch the seal where it curves then runs parallel to the roof
  13. For your PS2 - get some component cables from game - they are 8 quid I think. They come with RGB and R&W audio cables and make the picture look significantly better! You have to change a setting on the PS2, but it's none of this open-it-up-stuff, just use the controller
  14. Looking into this a bit more, there's a guide here http://www.pocketrocket.ca/mk3_sagging_doors.html but I think it's a different problem to mine - the top of the door is about 6 or 7 mm higher than the rear quarter panel. Any ideas anyone?
  15. Is there an easier way to do this - i've heard of people putting it in the back of the fuse box???
  16. yeah, it's behind the dash fella, but there's a vacuum pipe that goes to the firewall in the engine bay - right by the two heater matrix coolant pipes
  17. RE plugs - the std ones are platinum so last 60k miles, cheaper ones dont last as long... RE pollen filter - very easy to change - just pop off the lower windscreen plastic and replace - 15 mins easy RE Fuel filter - bit of an arse to do but easy - they are meant to be lifetime but I got one from halfords for 7 quid and it changed how the car drove for the better RE Coolant - use genuine stuff - it's not worth the risk as a new heater matrix is a significant PITA to do lol! Refilling is easy, just fill the header tank, run it up to temp filling via the tank as you go, then put on the cap and
  18. Fitting a new air filter (cone or panel replacement) is about 5 minutes work and only requires you to undo one jubilee clip and two very basic clips. Very very easy job - give it a go:)
  19. For those who want to DIY, here's a guide http://www.biryani.demon.co.uk/cars/corrado/water_pump.html
  20. compression / leak down test will tell you for certain
  21. Valve seals is virtually always on initial startup when it's cold . Rings is when you boot it / in general :S
  22. Goto ford for that part - it's about 15 quid if I remember rightly
