Help smoking when changing down!!!!!!!!!
john1980 replied to john1980's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Well thanks for the replies. I think I am just going to see what happens, it is 14 year's old after all. Thanks John -
Hi All I have a small problem with my VR. When using the gears to slow down, it is smoking when getting to second gear. Then when putting your foot down it smokes, but by the time you change back into third it stops! I have just put a second hand sebring exhaust on and it seems to smoke after the exhaust burbells, could it be smoking due to the back pressure of the exhaust or could it be something more. If I don’t use the gears to slow down and just change later there is no smoking. There is no smoke on start up and doesn’t smoke when putting your foot down, so what could it be. Thanks Jo

john1980 replied to john1980's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Ok I have had a look in the cold light of the day and it must be gear box oil as my engine oil has not gone down! The car starts and runs but the minute you put it in gear and go to lift the cluch it crunches like a gooden. Does anyone know of any one in the Medway/maidstone area that could come and have a look and give me some kind of idea of price to fix it. Thanks John -
Hi all Could you help me with determining what the problem is and what I can do about it. When driving home tonight, I put the car into 5th and it seemed to knock, pulled into a garage to have a look as I have just had my decat pipe fitted and thought it was knocking. Everything looked fine, so went off, stopped half a mile up the road and as I pulled off in first, it crunched !sad , thought it wasnt in gear properly, so tried again, crunched once more !sad . Stopped, popped open bonnet, looked underneath and there was a large pool of oil !sad , seemed to be coming from between the engine a

Hi Yes it is me again! What a bunch of jokers. Phoned for the de-cat pipe again today and still not in ~ . I don’t know if it is BBT or Miltek but what a joke. I have phoned Raceland not getting any till Wednesday next week(I was going to drive there).GSF don't do them, dose any one know where I can get a de-cat pipe before the weekend in Kent, if not I am going to make one myself. Thanks John

Hi All Sorry but I am going to have a rant and moan, ~ as I went into Big Boys Toys on Sunday and wanted a de-cat pipe. They didn't have one but said that they should be able to get it for Wednesday but just call on Monday to make sure. I did and the guy said it will be Thursday/Friday ~ but call before I make the trip, Thursday no pipe Friday no pipe should be in on Monday. ~ ~ God I am so Pi****. I can only get on a ramp on a Saturday so got to go a full week again, unless any of you have a de-cat pipe and you are in kent I could collect. !lol

HI Do you have a lot of keys on your key ring. If you do then take them off as this will cause wear and then drops out abit Hope this helps

Hi Has anyone got a Raceland exhaust? What are they like at sending your order? Are they loud? Are they easy to fit? Are they worth the money or is there something better out there? Thanks for you thought 8)

I argee mine is old 92 and with problems, but I love it. I only payed £650 for mine and could get twice that for it, but I want to be buried in mine. If I won the lottery I still would not get rid.

Hi The flaps (door) sound like they are moving, but not totally sure on that so will try getting under the dash. If it is an air lock is there a bleed valve anywhere? Thanks
-
Hi My heater matrix went about 5 month ago, 4 hours work and me and my good old dad had changed it. But where everything got wet the foam that was on the moving door’s had disintegrated. I didn't think this would hurt as just moved the flow of the air to the feet, face and window, but the car is cold. I drive 30 min's to work in a fridge is there any way I can block the cold air from the outside Thanks

Hi My VR's Temp Gauge only goes up to the 70 mark. It has only gone up this much in the 4 years I have known it (I think anyway). Is this a problem and if so what do I do to fix it.
