  1. The thing is its nice to have slightly personalised plates so long as they are legible, just that some people insist on buying cheap cherished plates that make no sense unless you mess with the spacing and font and put a dozen screws in them to join the letters up. I can see why its illegal to have dodgy plates, but IMO, so long as the letters are a sensible font and the spacing is good, whats the problem with having the band on the left personalised? or the subscript personalised? or having a pink border? Tis true though, gotta have BS stamp on it to be legal and pass MOT. Mate of mine had Ve
  2. GSF do genuine bosch for ~£70. Can you not solder it back on? Got any pics of it? Mine was not running as seized, and leaking water.
  3. Still not big enough! More CC! More CC Need more!!! and none of that 4WD poop! good old fashioned RWD!
  4. Level 3 first go, trouble is my handwriting looks the same!!!
  5. Only runs with key in ignition and turned to run, or when engine is high temp.
  6. Did not want it to be loose, so i done it till it was just binding a little! Did wonder why the wheel was so hot after driving it a mile or two........ No it was before I joined the VR6OC, so no I didnt ask anyone..
  7. Is it? Is it the Carrier that has the Allen bolts then? Cant remember, know it was a hassle taking one of the bits off when I done Pads and Discs........................
  8. Do not over tighten them!!!!!!!! I did!!!!! I thought just one more turn!! Was driving along and the bearing collapsed, ended up driving home with the caliper holding my wheel on!!!! Lucky I was only half mile from home!
  9. Are you sure that wasnt that dim witted aussie twat with a bird with plastic tits? LOL No I said Bright, if I had been referring to that tit, there would have been nothing quick or bright about it! Not about even keeping up, it all about V6 for me! When they gonna shoehorn a V8 in a Golf?!?!?!? Come on guys, that would be a good trick!
  10. and good quality Allen keys and lots of WD40! No need for the tool, just need a bit of flat metal like a paint scraper or something like that. Gettin the bolts off is the hardest bit, without rounding them off!
  11. Dont fancy my chances off the line with a CivicR, but 80+ I kept one at bay easily, and I have no mods, some bright yellow thing with Jordan written all over it.
  12. NSR would be easy. Pliers, Spanner, Big socket, Hammer, Grease. Front would be a mission, would leave it to mechanic.
  13. I agree totally! I like fast cars, but I wanna have a fast car and look inconspicuous too. IMO its a Chav thing to drive Rally cars on the road. Anyone with real taste and money would not be seen dead in one, let alone pay money for the priviledge! Buy a Saab, Volvo, Porsche, decent Beamer(not a 3 Series!), or most things Italian(which are not my taste cos my willy is big enough!).
  14. I hope you had the engine running whilst on the diagnostic, cos it shows a engine speed sensor fault if the engine is off!!!! Then clears as soon as you fire it up.........
  15. My neighbour done it too!!! Got a recon box for his Espace and it was the same as before, turns out it was a little rubber linkage thing which cost a fiver!!! Gutted!! However there is a lesson!! Also never trust a mechanic!!
  16. No, i think not. Coil pack you get six leads. I think for a dizzy you need 7, one for each plug plus one from the coil to the dizzy. I not 100% though. Leads are leads though apart from that.
  17. Have you reset the ECU by taking the battery off and on again? It stores some settings and uses them as a kind of fail safe in case a sensor fails, so it will still run acceptably. When you remove the battery it will gather this fail safe information again. Given you have changed a lot of parts the current settings would probably be off a bit. Also have you considered the ignition switch, as they are pretty unreliable, my stereo cuts out on some nasty bumps, and I have to wiggle the key to get it back on!

    VR6 tool kit?

Very true, hastily read, thought it was a VR specific question.
  19. I would drag his sorry arse up there to prove my point, but that would mean spending time with him! There is only one willy I like spending time with and thats a part of me! They are pretty light I think, drove a 214SI, and it flew, for a little engine, handled quite well too.
  20. We have been here before........ Oil temps vary........ I think it is safe to say that, dont cane it till over 80C then.
  21. Yes all halogen bulbs are the same, like security lights etc., the grease increases the glass temp and nackeres it I think. Bonnet up, release the clips holding the black cover on and pop it off and have a feel around, its quite easy, but it can be aquward to remove the covers due to lack of space!
