  1. I believe illumination and operation are separate: the switches illuminate with the headlights. With the factory fit system, you could put the key in the door lock and hold it in the locked (or unlocked) position and the windows would raise (or lower). If your car has the wiring on the door lock, you could try opening/closing from the key - this bypasses the window switches. If all else fails, concentrate on one door: # is ground connected? - need continuity from battery to the thick brown wire on the window module in the door # is there power - I guess there sh
  2. Try searching t'internet for g3radfan3speed.pdf, and you should find a two page PDF containing a wiring diagram. I've not checked it (some wiring diagrams do have errors in them), but it seems ok on the whole... There is a cool thread on the Corrado forum describing the cooling system, which may be worth a read: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38925-The-definitive-VR6-cooling-guide
  3. If your after the details for a Mk3 VR6 (95 onwards), then according to the wiring diagram: 1 | Red/White 2 | Brown 3 | Yellow 4 | White
  4. The 280mm and 288mm calipers are not interchangeable as such - they are very different. You can upgrade to the 288mm caliper, but you require: * the calipers and matching carriers (uses the same mounting bolt holes) * hoses * 288mm disks and pads Beware the banjo bolt connecting the hose to the caliper has a different thread pitch depending on the donor car...
  5. I think your tacho problem is unrelated to the alternator. The alternator is grounded through the engine and has a thick red wire connected to the battery. The third connection is a thin wire (might be blue) which drives the alternator light in the dash. If you get a good voltage with the engine running, the alternator is fine.
  6. Speak to your machine shop - are they aware you are supplying the pistons? I would have expected the machine shop to work the block to facilitate the specified piston, rather than arbitrarily cut the bore to 82mm??
  7. There is a chap named rubjonny - a moderator on the Club GTi forum - who has accrued many useful documents: have a rummage: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_V9-6xfgGlINzhhM2IyNmItOWRhZS00MzBkLTk2MTEtNGIyZDFmMDg0NWM2?hl=en_GB
  8. Hi all, My 1995 Corrado VR6 has a problem with its heated seats. The passenger seat works just fine, but the drivers seat does not warm up at all. I swapped the seats over and the passenger seat still works when connected to the drivers side loom: so the problem is in the drivers seat. I checked the wiring on the seat and both elements appear fine - there is a small resistance measured across each element. However the wiring to (what I guess is) the temperature sensor is open circuit. On the passenger seat this measured a high resistance - around 30 Mega Ohm. I've been to VW and the heated ele
