  2. If its a later car i think the ecu needs to be coded which may be why your light is still on. Does the ABS work at all?
  3. Why dont you just buy some UK ones....you could swap the actual faces but i doubt if the km's can be changed to miles, My us spec clocks read in fahenheit and its quite annoying?
  4. Bought another ecu/pump combo and just swapped the ecu. Apparently they can be resoldered......think there was a thread about it either on here or edition38 i cant remember

  6. It is more than likely pointing to an abs fault. Need to get it on vagcom
  7. Yea i had that fault and it was the ecu!
  8. Ho wdo you know the pump is faulty....usually its ecu's and sensors!
  9. Disconnect the battery.....leave ignition on for 3 mins then let idle for 3 mins without touching the aceelerator pedal!
  10. no didnt do a cc vento.....just paint them..should be some guides on here somewhere!
  11. Try cleaning out the throttle body and isv....that could be the revs dropping!
  12. OBD stands for on board diagnostics. All golfs regardless of obd are 100% interchangable. an engine out of a later car will give you NO extra power
  13. All golfs are AAA so would need to check the plug really!

    Think the reds had beru ends and were available separately should you break 1. The black set were just that a set slightly cheaper whole set that werent as strong!
  15. 2 types depending on year and apparently they are quite different. Its either a rectangular plug or a slightly rounder one end plug!

    OE all the way! had 2 sets of dubpowers 1 magnecore and would suggest Genuine VW red leads only....not the black set you can buy!
  17. Just reinforce the sump.....weld a strip of steel onto it...been done before and any capable welder could do it!
  18. Hmm me too....got fk's and i bloody hate the ride...really crashy. Prob just worn out. Get some pics up if any one has any either on or off the car!

If you get a rear sensor fault and changing the sensor doesnt clear it, under the rear seats is where they plug in swap the plugs from left to right if the fault still says the same side then its your ecu if the fault swaps it is more than likely the sensor. This is for obd2 cars only as the ecu is sepearte on earlier cars
  20. Hmmm then next i would try the crank sensor as this will limit revs....its a bit harder to change which is why i suggested the cam first!
  21. Later cars did but not the outer panels iirc.....later cars tend to rust worse than the older????
  22. Could be the ecu...looks like your obd2 from your sig so very common.....was the sensor genuine....could have gone bad again? they arte magnets so try cleaning them first, There is a way of testings them manually without vagcom i believe!
