Thanks m8 The charge cooler has a seperate tank and radiator up front. The tank sits next to the fuel tank. Not keen on deviating from standard look tbh, and i wasn't convinced about the change to a non standard colour, but i'm happy with the result. Subtle changes to the bodywork are all i've done. Fuel filler gone, debadged at the front and rear wiper removed. -

It was all going so well until i managed to strip every tooth off 5th gear. Crappy O2A gearboxes lol. In the hope of salvaging the day i removed the gearbox end cover and fished out the broken teeth But it wasn't to be and the gearbox still wasn't right, so a phone call to the trusty AA later and we were on our way home. The plan was to change the gearbox over and repaint the car over the winter 2012. Unfortunately i ended up with another list of pressing jobs, so the clio went on the back burner for a year. Come the end of 2013 and i started to repaint the shell, stripping both th

It made the trip to Donington June 2012 to the French car show and was indoors with the Performance French Car stand.

After a trip to see Scoff @ Efi-Parts, Runcorn to finish off the mapping and hopefully get some decent results, the outcome was 430 hp and 430 lbs/ft of torque @ 1.3 bar boost pressure. The injectors were pretty much maxed out at that boost, so since then i've changed to some 850cc siemens units. Just on with some suspension tweaks currently and then i can try some more boost !! :-P

I realised that the Clio had a cable driven speedo, and the VR was electronic so some sort of conversion was needed. I did consider 5 GTT clocks, but opted for some Astra GTE digital clocks as i'd had a set gathering dust for some years ! After stripping both of the clusters down, i modified the astra unit to fit inside the clio one. The end result is a perfect fit, shame about the spare trip counter hole I actually bought some slightly smoked perspex sheet, 3mm thick ( the thinnest i could find ) to make a new front for the clocks, but it's not flexible enough to deal with the clio clocks co

dizzy to coilpack conversion, whats needed?

I once did this m8 and If i remember rightly, the list was..... upper timing chain cover pickup for end of rear camshaft ( the pickup bolts onto the end of the cam) camshaft sensor. Coilpack ecu Coilpack type wiring loom I chose to modify the original wiring loom, to save swapping it out. I also used the dizzy spark plug leads. -
I'm, not too far away from Harewood, so will head over first thing Sunday morning. I wonder what the purists will say to my VR turbo clio lol ! It could even be a first..... a Renault at a VW show ! ;-)

I think services like this are guided more towards the DIY enthusiast m8. Gives you far more of an idea than just aimlessly changing parts in the hope of curing a fault.
