ventovr6essex1 replied to jpturner's topic in Engine Tuning
ive have a jetex pannel filter i removed the cold air intake from the standard airbox and after a little trip to halfords i got some air ducting pipe and created my own ram air feed into the airbox, it sounds ace and filter and pipe cost £30 as i got my filter at a show . -

Engine problem - What should I do
ventovr6essex1 replied to a topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
if the cat is getting red hot you could 1 of a few things . what is ure water level like ?if anti freeze is being burnt ie headgasket the cat will glow read hot . also unburnt fuel will cause the cat to glow red hot . if it has a misfire then pull 1 lead off at a time you should here the engine note change . if 1 or more of the leads make no difference to the note get a old plug earth it and see if u have a spark to them . if all are sparking of could be plugs or an internal engine fault . if 1 or more leads dont have a spark could be coil pack or a lead . -

the traction control only works under 25 mph its a waste of time to be honest . the only time you will notice it is on light throtle turning out of a junction in the wet maybe . its so easy to override as it is not linked to the throttle like new cars . if your abs light is coming on then go get it code read there will be a non present code stored in the ecu , this will atleast point you in the right direction . mk3 sensors are a known problem the sensors housing corrodes crushing the sensor causing all sorts or problems . but it could be a number of things .

ABS light on after brake change / bleeding
ventovr6essex1 replied to shail's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
it sounds like the sensor rings on the inside of the discs are missing or maybe they broke 1 . when i changed mine i had to prise them off then gentlly crush them in a vice to get them to fit snugly onto the new discs if they are loose they will give a incorrect reading . i also changed all my brake lines as long as the ignition is on and you pressure blead them they are fine . I also changed my rear axel bushes and like a numpty turned the igniton on with the abs sensor plugs disconected the light went out once i drove it as the abs does a self check every time you start the car and drive -

i will see if i can get my arse out of bed early enough to get there for 8 . -
infact its about july 1995 cant rember the date exactly . but the loop hole is that you have to beable to read the engine code . how it works is you carry out what is called a bet test on cars after 8/92 if it fails to put in car details ie make, model and the all important engine code ! you have to see the engine code with you own eyes . if you cant find it you have to carry out a non cat test . my car was registered 06/95 and it falls into this loop hole . your car would still be non cat test because of the age of it . but also if you had a 2000 rangerover v8 and you put an old v8 on carbs

Urgent help required VR6 starting problem
ventovr6essex1 replied to mattyt's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
the climate control is flashing to tell u there is a fault with it needs to go on a code reader . I would cheak the feed to starter motor this is easy there are there should be a big power feed wire onto ur starter like a battery wire and a small wire . when the car dose not start see if u have power to the small when then the key is being held in the start position . you just need a test light to cheak this . disconnect the plug to the reverse lights will i have a look tomorrow and see were it its but its most likley that its that is holding the lights on -
by the way the can only cost a fiver and tinting spray was 15 quid a tin
