Air conditioning working/not working
ventovr6essex1 replied to vr6madforit's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
its possible that ur system is low on gas the gas should be recharged every 2 to 3 years as the slowly escapes past the seals and through the pipes over time . You need to rule that out first if its still the same then u could be looking at some type of electrcal fault . -

Cheap Worthwhile Mods for a VR6

ive been looking at a lot of the posts on air filters and all i have come up with is that a lot of people are spending a lot of cash on a kit that basicly is a sealed ram air joby . well looking at this i have thought about it and took a little trip up to halfords . they do a aluminum ducting pipe from rip speed at £7.99 i removed the cone from the air box as a experiment (as it is there to increase air speed as it goes )and run the piping from the air box cold air intake (the pipe fits over this snugly ) and down to the grill in the bumper under the fog lights . there is a noticable differen -
did u reset the handbrake when u fitted pads if so it sounds like could be the caliper if the spring does not cure it .
-
the spring is to help the caliper return to its stop and without this fairly sure thats its a fail . i would need to look in the book to double check . as for the brake binding that could be a number of things one could be the return spring missing, the caliper its self could be part seized this is not uncommon, the pads could be seized in the carrier. first thing i would do is try a spring . as u have new cables then i would remove calipers clean and lub the pads and carriers . let the cables off till they are slack and wind the pistons back in the calipers refit and pump the brake pedle 10 t

can i just say that it a load of rubbish about street tyres dammaging the strip i raced a vw bettle that ran 12.4 secs on them in vw pro and all custom cars run on then and pump gas and they get into the 8s .doing a burn out is helpful but when it really shows is when the track is race prepared they put a grip juce as its known on the track when u get hot sticky rubber on this u really notice it ,they dont grip juce the strip on run what ya brung as there would be lots of broken cars ie diffs and drive shafts .Track day slicks are a very differnt compound to drag racing slicks so to get the

mine is a vento and the tail pipe is on a extention so it was really easy to set up just got the boxes hung nicely and then adjusted the tail pipe after . ive ordered my cat replacement pipe now and engine mounts ready 4 my 6 branch .
-
i ordered the 2 box cat back system i fitted mine this weekend the only thing i had to do was on the first box replacement pipe it has had a hanger bracket on the top of the pipe that i had to cut off. The exhaust comes with a hanger and a bolt that u screw in the bottom of the pipe .probably will make more sence when u open the box and have a go at fitting it . mine fits as good as factory fit exhaust im really pleased with it . mind its very quiet u hardly know its on there .

squeaky passenger front wheel?????????
ventovr6essex1 replied to Dubsingh's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
this is starting to become quite a common problem , i work at a errrrrrrrr a vauxhall main dealer at the mo and they have this problem . what it comes down to is that they cannot use asbestos ( i know thats not how its spelt) in the brakes anymore . the pads are much harder making discs ware out much faster . what type of pads did u use i use fast road pads seem to be ok. what i do at work to help this problem is put a 45 degree edge on the leading edge of the pad and some times on the trailing edge . some pads already come with this done . it helps with the bedding in plus the squeek is not -

Inner CV Joint Removal - Triple Square Socket
ventovr6essex1 replied to steveyj's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
U do not have to remove the drive shaft to take the outer cv off if u relase the lower wishbone then pull the hub assembley forward u can get the cv out of the hub , the joint is a knock on and off afair . A few hard taps with a big hammer and bobs ur uncle one outer cv joint in ur hand . u might want a extra pair of hands just to hold the drive shaft . ps replace the little clip on the end of the shaft or ur cv will jump off the shaft . -
ive just put a jetex cat back 2 box system on can hardly tell the difference from standard .i like this im going to put a 6 branch and cat back on will this make it louder ?
