  1. ye i was running 280-290bhp on my old mk2vr6 and vince said they where only on around 50%.... eat this what boost you running? charged r turbo?
  2. hi everyone quick Q,... very nearly got all my bits now apart from injectors as i was unsure of which ones to go for. are bosch red tops efficient enough for around the 350-360bhp mark? cheers
  3. 268 cams are not as bad with chargers as people think. can be slightly on the lumpy side but it will be like that without a charger too it all depends on the mapping, if its mapped correctly then it will be fine. with a charger, obviously lower down in the rev range its a little less torqy than with the standard cams but hit 4500-5000rpm ITS AN ANIMAL!! fitting wise, it is the case of taking 2 out and putting 2 in as u say, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. most important thing is keeping the the correct timing.
  4. hi guys for all you turbo experts out there, where do i get the following parts, and how much are they roughly? uk turbo manifold spacer/metal gasket to run around 12psi maybe (after roughly 330bhp) READY TO FIT maybe oil lines/return cheers
  5. i have a whole supercharger setup with a brand new shrick manifold and the mapped chip from stealth for obd2 (mines 97 highline) for sale... 2000 for the lot... 2k will get u sweetFA from shops. so thats polished Z-engineering charger, shrick manifold and map for 2000. pm me if interested....
  6. hi as above realy, ive been offered the full r32 front brake set up from my cousin.... includes front calipers, carriers, discs and pads... can i make these fit the mk3? are the carrier holes line ip with the mk3 hubs? i kno il prob need washers but do the holes line aup? cheers
  7. yes go out in them at work, amazingly quick kev. 335 petrol feels faster than an m3 to me, no doubt sum1 will figure out a map for it an it will be!
  8. just reached 100k, an can hear rattle. will be starting them on the weekend...
  9. yeh thats what i kno deep down but just havent got the time and space at the mo to do them! will give it a shot anyway...
  10. cheers alot yep bled the tensioner first, an new oil pump i have sitting in the garage, gona change it anyway
  11. thought that but still confussed about the lack of oil pressure in the tensioner. will put my new oil pump on and an oil service, and if that doesnt solve it (which i doubt it will) new chains an guides are on order...
  12. hi to all as above peeps, i have quite a loud top chain. i have opened it all up a i thought maybe a broken guide, but there are no signs of wear to any of the guides, and i have a brand new tensioner fitted too. but still they are loud? any body had this? when i take out the tensioner, and sqeaze it, no oil comes out so i am assuming the tensioner is not applying enough pressure. could this maybe be down to low oil presuure in the engine as there is no blockage to the oil passage which feeds the tensioner. maybe a weak oil pump or incorrect oil? (this sumtimes is the case at my work - bmw) t
  13. with a S/C, when you run an intercooler, you get a large presuure drop at the inlet. so for example, if you are running a 10psi pully, by the time the air has gone round all the boost piping and intercooler, at the inlet you might only see around 7psi (guestimate). so if you use water injection, you keep the distance the air has to travel from the charger to the inlet short so you still see most of the boost the chargers producing, and inlet temps will be coooler too
  14. i may have a set too, but id want a price on the whole lot, ready to fit straight onto the car, as i realy dont have much time anymore!! if you could give me a price tom on coils, and leads with the connectors on them ready to plug and play, thatd be great... cheers alot
  15. wow what an interesting thread! yes as sparks correctly pointed out, i had my mk2 vr6 S/C mapped there by vince then a few power runs after. he is a very nice and helpfull man vince, he managed to get my vr up2 280bhp so overall a nice experience at stealth.
  16. yes as sed before they are stretch bolts do do not use old one. if im not mistaken, i think i heard that standard head bolts from vw are good for about 350bhp.... also, you can use metal head gasket from 24v vr6 mk4 but if im not mistake it may raise the compression a little... some one may confirm this for u
  17. hi people... how much is a sump new from vw? also, where can get i and how much is a baffled sump? if i can get a baffled one for the vr, id rather do that... cheers in advanced
  18. im so thick sometimes, i meant the ht lead removal tool. thread now updated, thanks guys
