  2. thanks guys, yeh was pissing down on the way back, i couldnt evn get traction in 3rd! but as i got closer to home, started to dry up, thats when i thought wow. its really does go crazy at high revs, and tbh when im in low revs, its still very nice to drive.... jay where did yours make max torque? mine i think makes good torque in the right rev range, i think thats why it pulls like mad.... going by the graph... it makes 225lbft @ 4300rpm, then i get max torque 236lbft @ 5500rpm, and still at 6200rpm thers 230lbft. combine that with the bhp that is still on its way up till it hits the limiter,

Eat-this the cams work good imo, i was kind ov helping vince whilst he was mapping, i was reading of the boost to him as he was mapping it, and i noticed it takes ages for the boost to rise to even to only 6psi, the engine realy needed to be at high revs. cams really make the differance above 5000rpm, and this is when you start to get anywhere near full boost from the charger so i found it makes all its power at the right place. ok you do sacrifice low down torque so maybe to some it may not be as nice to drive around town but open up and it does go mad. i hope that makes sense lol? then again

  7. hi peeps.... thought id pot up my results from fridays session at stealth... engine mods include: '97 obd2 zr2 charger @ 6 psi 268 cams 6 branch exhaust with no cat 8mm magnecor leads 4 bar fpr low temp stat 16v plugs stealth remap (with maf) in a mk2 golf after being on the rollers half the day made: 278.3 bhp and 236 lbft goes like mad when it hits 5000rpm, then like crazy after 6000rpm!!! all in all a good day, and a massive thanks to vince at stealth. complete charger kit also might be goin up for sale very soon as i might be getting a vortech stage 2 from a mate (the charger ive always w

  11. lookin veri nice mate personaly.... id put an eye brow on that front end give it bit more attitude or normal mk3 front end... and the rear lights you had on before (on page 1)
  12. phoned vince today and he said it should be ok, but keep the 3 bar fuel reg in.... put the charger and red tops in 2day, just got finishing touches left tomorow, and off to stealth on fri hehe cant wait......

  14. tbh there peice of piss to change, its just takes a lil while as the inlet manifolds gotta comes, an stealth want 2hrs labour to change them so thats like £120/130 odd.
  15. i cant keep the stock injectors in as im changing them not stealth.... as for the cat, its a mk2 J reg '91 dont need a cat so will the injectors mess anything engine related up at all, if i keep it under say 2k with the red tops would that be ok, with the 3 bar fuel reg? i can change to 4 bar when i get there.... cheers guys
  16. in a bit of a dilema atm... cars getting mapped for charger with red tops on friday at stealth. the thing is, i live about 80 miles form stealth. can i get up there slowly keeping the revs under say 2k or will this damage something?? cheers
  17. wish i could afford them mate i defenatly would.... may try an source some standard ones before friday, but on the other hand im curious to see how it pulls after 4500rpm with the charger too. i think il just leave them. i hope to create around the same figure as yours. p.s. what torque figure did u make?
  18. lovely, thats made me feel a bit better, i have '97 obd2. i have the zr2 with 8 psi pulley and also the bosch red tops. only thing is, my 268's are still in there, add we had to demolish one of the standard cams to get the sprocket off as the screw was unbaleivably tight. does running the 268 damage the engine or is it just that u loose alot of torque lower down?? also vince said if i decide to put the standard cams back in after the remap, i dont need it mapped again, but the other way round wouldnt work....

  22. had 2 mk3 vr's one was a doner car for my planned mk2 conversion and one was a runaround whilst i build it!!! have to say i loved the comfort of the mk3, the heated leathers where nice but iv always loved the mk2, looks handling... so i decided to do the conversion. best thing i ever done. amazingly faster and the MAIN REASON FOR THE ***KIN SOUND!!! wouldnt change it for anything else
