  1. see how would you do this with the zr2 charger on a mk2!!!!
  2. i dont kno why but, 1st and 2nd gear atleast iv managed to get the revs higher than when it hit the limiter in 5th if that makes sense. basically it felt like the limiter came in slightly earlier in 5th.... not that i realy care that much, how often do you do 150mph, as long as it gets to about that region fast, thats all that counts. id settle for 130mph if it accelarated raipidly to it... whats the standard mk3 vr6 box geared to in 5th? (capable of top end)

  4. i still have my TRF tuned tao3 and my 1/8 scale TRF tuned TGX petrol one!! richie do the do it in 1/8 scale? would love one. painting the new shells was good fun man
  5. i hit the limiter in 5th @ 148mph in my mk2vr, 0-60 defenatly in the 6's.... and chargers goin on 2moro Eat this - vid doesnt work for me for sum reason

  7. the civic would have beaten a mk3 vr6 with those mods... yes the gearing is very close on the ctr's hence the 6th gear too. vr ratios are good for forced aspiration as they need more torque/power to pull through the longed out gears heance 70mph in 2nd. its a totaly differant story in my mk2 golf tho, its much lighter so the engine pulls through the gears much quicker, the revs build up so much quicker than when the engine was in the mk3. i destroy civic's even before the 268's. just goes to show making your car faster is not just about adding power!!
  8. mines booked in at stealth next week. i would much rather prefere for vince to map it with the maf tbh, as said above, without it, the ecu wont know how much air is being brought in, so it may run without it plugged in and may even create good power, but imo will run lumpy etc... but good result jay glad its sorted

  10. hi guys... what hose did you use for going off the throttle body to the AFM? and where did you get it from? i kno its a 90 degree bend, but the throttle body is i think 74/75mm and the afm is 80mm..... they dont do this type reducer and i dont want it to leak. im getting desperate as the charger needs to go on this week and ready for mapping with vince next week... cheers
  11. if its from a mk4 1.8T its a 3 bar i think. vr's with chargers runnin 240bhp+ need the 4 bar, so id doubt youl need it for just breathing mods tbh then again, corrados run 4 bar pressure as standard and there quoted under 200bhp standard so might be worth a tri...

  13. if you say u have a missfire, that will play a part in your consumption. when mine was missing, it was down to a dodgy afm, and my consumpsion wouldnt go over 12mpg!!! best thing, give it a service with plugs, if still missin, try leads, as there common to go too, if not afm. but prob best to get it on vag com after the service
  14. 25mpg's not bad, at the mo, im running 268 cams, 6 branch, zorts/filter and no cat in a mk2 golf and mine reads between 22 and 27 around town. it also depend what mods you have, all the common mods that are done first like air filter exaust cams etc will create more air flow therefore you engine will consume more fuel... having said that my chargers goin on next week with bigger injectors so probably on its way to about 10mpg lol
  15. its basicaly a diagnostics machine. it will read fault codes stored in the ecu and most of the time tell if something is wrong. as said before, before you start trial and error, get it on vag-com. colud be many other things like, lambda sensor or air-flow meter. when my 1st vr was runnin like ***t, poor fuel consumpsion etc etc, thats what it turned out to be.

  18. my charger arrived few days ago, and i want to change the oil too, its a zr2 tho with the teethed pullies. how do you changed the oil in it? and whats the best oil to use... cheers

  21. hey peeps my charger has arrived and my car is booked in with vince on the 22nd... theres a couple of pipes missing and i wana kno what way the brackets go on etc so i can fit the charger raedy for its mapping day.... does anyone have any pics of there engine bays with the charger on so i can see what i need to buy and how to fit etc... cheers...... komi
  22. i would first check your dizzy and rotor arm, and replace them for piece of mind, and which leads did you buy 6months ago? ud be lucky for cheap leads to even last you that imo.... so it may well be them again
