  1. Thanks bud. I had lots of help from the boys to do the car, wouldn't have managed it without them.
  2. Carry on. Just put a fettled 2.9vr into my cam'd 16v. Love it, well worth it.
  3. Well after first ordering a cage for the golf on the 26th February, being mucked around by AAT for god knows how long and finally having to cancel my order, this arrived on my door step after ordering one from another company... Going to trial fit it at the weekend and was also a good day as Vince called to say he'd done my ecu. Happy boy, Thanks, Marty
  4. Thanks Jim. Some scaffolding for the inside should be arriving in the post today so will hopefully get some pics of the cage trial fitted at the weekend. ECU went off to Stealth yesterday, waiting for it to come back is like waiting for Christmas
  5. Cheers Mofo, it is getting there. I was after a US tailgate but have given up, plus the seem to be appearing on a few Mk3's these days. Would rather spend money on making the thing faster than look shinier these days as mint paintwork on a daily is a never ending battle. Saying that I have been toying with a colour change lol
  6. Thanks Craggsy, I did try calling them before posting this up but nobody would answer the phone. Will try again if they definately do them. Thanks
  7. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew suppliers of fibreglass or similar doors for a Mk3 Golf 3dr. I am thinking about putting the golf on a diet. Also where would be best to get a carbon bonnet for the golf? I contacted lite tuned but they can only supply ones with cut outs for washer jets. Does anyone know any others? Thanks in advance. Martin
  8. The red rocker cover came with the engine Rich, I have a silver one to go on when the head is done, it wasn't back from the coaters in time to be fitted for inters. The strut brace was fitted two days before inters as it was on back order, so it never got coated either. Not to big a fan of the red myself so looking forward to getting it changed. Ye Rich, ed38 sounds good. Sorry about the pics, normally resize them in photoshop first but forgot. My bad.
  9. 200.5bhp and 186lbft. Running lean and down alot in the mid range as well. Will be sorted next week though.
  10. Yep know the one Gav, was tidy Well I got the car rolling roaded last monday, so here are a few poor quality vids and some pics thought you guys might like. Car is down on power and torque, more so in the midrange as it is needing mapped. Should be sorted next week though as sending the ecu off on monday. I felt sorry for the poor guy having to hold the wide band lambda up the exhaust!! Thanks, Marty Moderator edit by: VR6Rich
  11. Thanks Gav, which ones was yours?? Still lots more to be done but it is getting there. Si - I did have the hella smoked rear lights on and still have them, prefer the cl ones though as they break up the black and match the orange us side markers. Thanks for your comments though.
  12. Thanks for the comments guys. Glad you like it. Martin, as you say worth all the hard work. It does sound pretty good even if I say so myself, you should have heard it on the rollers yesterday, sounded mighty fine. Shame you couldn't make it. Should have an update soon of new bits to be fitted when I can get out to the garage and take some pics, and my rollcage is due in the country tomorrow Going to have to get it booked into Stealth as well to get it mapped, will be about a 1000mile round trip though
  13. Sorry it has taken so long to get the pics up. Work has been crazy and every spare minute has been spent trying to sort out a few niggles. Still got to get the exhaust fixed, new de-cat pipe made, new lambda then it should be 100% and I will get it on the rollers. Then will be the time to start saving for cams so I can get the head on. It goes well though, revs top end like no other N/A vr I have been in. Had a boy in a std escort cosworth looking bemused as to why he couldn't get by the other day...
  14. VR6virgin, thanks mate. Was a fair bit of work but worth it
  15. All finished... On the VR6OC stand at inters... Few Rolling shots...
  16. Bay being prepped.. Work starts on the engine etc...
  17. The engine before being stripped... The real work begins... The replacement...
  18. Sorry I don't get much chance to post on here but thought I'd chuck up some details of my project. I was on the club stand on saturday at GTi International after the nice man from VW sorted an electrical issue. Sunday the car was misbehaving again so she never made it on to the stand or the strip, such is life. There is always next year. Anyway my Mk3 started out as a Mk3 GTi 16V which I have owned since Sept 05. She originally sat on 17" BBS RX's, twin headlights, hella smoked rears when I bought her. Few things changed over time, wasn't low enough so on went some koni coilovers. I managed to
