Hi guys.... have a mk2 2.9 vr6.....as i went to start the car today there was a very quick fairly loud ticking noise coming from relay number 109...pulled it out and back in then stopped....however its come back but as soon as i turn car on noise goes.....is it just a faulty relay...or anything else.... as always any help and advice very much appreciated. thanks!!!

Hi guys...got mesen a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump...over the past few weeks the idling is starting to play up...for example 1 minute the cars idling spot on then it would start to rev up to around 1000rpm sometimes slightly over...it will come back to normal once i give it some revvege...ive put the car on vagcom and it saying no faults....any ideas what else could be causing this stupidness...ISV??? as always ...all help and advice much appreciated.

ive raced a few r32's in my 2.9vr6 mk2....from the start its extremely close up until about 30mph then me vr pulled away from the r32....its down to the power to weight thing i guess..... what i particularly enjoy is dustings r32's and letting them see the original 16v badge on back of the car.....if they ask i just say its a old skool thing!!!

Hi all----i have a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump----engine has been in the car for around 3 years ----and since the birth ive always used quantum gold oil------should i continue using this or are there any others i should try out that may be better?? thanks in advance!!! cheers!!

Pipercross VIS kit recommended over a BMC... im confused..

ive had all kinds of induction kits for my mk2 VR--ive had ram air, k&n, pipercross and BMC---for the best VR sound id say it defintley was the Pipercross foam induction kit----but overall in my opinion the BMC is by far the mack daddy!!!! -
mate i asked the same question on a few forums ---and the answer i got was u get what u pay for---which is very true---so on that basis i didnt purchase the chip. cheers

Hi Guys-----just seen on ebay a chip i can purchase for my 2.9 vr6 for £34.99----it says i will see gains of upto 10 more bhp---and also it will increase the power and torque it will also increase the rev limit range to 7500rmp....anyone had one of these fitted??? firstly do they really work? and secondly will they not just end up damaging the engine?? all advice is greatly appreciated----- thanks

hi guys--thanks for the replies----went to a mechanics who said the noise was coming from the block where the timing chain is----he had a little fiddle with it and now it seems to have sorted itsen out----thank the lord!!! will monitor it and see if it comes back----wil let u know cheers -
Hi guys--got a mk2 vr6 (corrado lump)---recently when pressing the accelerator the car is making a very weird rattling sound it seems to be coming from the small block to the left of the engine where i believe one of the vacuum pipes goes into--this block is right next to the MAF----any ideas what this could be guys??? many thanks as always

ive got a mk2 vr6-----i almost all the time redline the beast----its the only way to drive the VR---besides normal wear and tear issues nothing major to report (touch wood)----however i do change oil and oil filter every 3k----with a major service every year. oh yes and also il only screw the car once car is properly warmed up. so i guess as long as the car is maintained well --- it aint so bad hammering the beast.

Hi guys----have a mk2 2.9vr6----over the past month or so that car keeps blowing the 30amp fan fuse----it has been over a few weeks, however replaced it on friday and its gone again today----2 days----also had the fan switch changed a month ago---i have noticed since changed fuse on friday that the fan seems to be on a lot more than normal-----anyone have any idea what this could be, and anything i can do to check-----thanks guys!!!!

Hi guys....got a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump in....need to change the head gasket as the current one went yesterday...just wondering should i go for a standard gasket or are there any better ones i could go for, or ive heard about using 2 standard ones instead of one....appreciate any suggestions and advice. many thanks in advance.. cheers all!!!!!

Hey guys...got a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump.....over past few days car seems to have lost a bit of power...and this morning the water temp level which is normally dead set in the middle has been rising towards 100...not good....the fans dont kick in at all....and also the top of the engine like the inlet manifold is very hot u can barely touch it...this aint normal at all as normally even after a good thrashing it never gets this hot....what a weekend for me car to get poorly....any help is greatly apreciated.....thanks all......happy easter !!

hi guys.......have a mk2 golf vr6...over the past few days as im drivin the car there seems to be coolant smoking from the radiator...ive had a look and cant see any leaks on any of the pipes....the smokin appears to be coming from the whole radiator..the coolant level also drops....im guessing the radiator is knackerd and needs to be replaced.....??? is that the case.....many thanks in advance.!!!

Hi guys, over the past week my mk2 vr6 seems to be having idiling problems, whilst im driving the the car doesn't seem to be as smooth as she should be, the best way i can describe it is that it feels lumpy and rough almost like the cars coughing, also as i start the car up the revs shoot up past 2000 revs but does come back down to normal after about 30 seconds...whilst the car is ticking over if i turn the lights on or the fan heater on the revs shoot down and the car stalls....anyone have any idea what could be wrong, any help abd advice is greatly appreciated....many thanks

....i have a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 in.....cars not been runnin too well for past few weeks....as i start the car in mornin the revs shoot up past 2000 rpm and holds there for a few minutes before eventually getting back to normal, however when im driving the car she's not as quick as she should be and also doesnt sound exactly right....so anyways as advised put the car on diagnostics, it diagnosed the engine speed sender (cam) is faulty...just a few months ago i changed the crank and lamba sensors....my first question is if the engine speed sensor is faulty then would i experience the idling

hi everyone, new to this site...ive got a mk2 golf gti with a 2.9 vr6 corrado lump, the car is so rapids, but im thinking of changing the standard manifold to a 6 branch manifold, what differnce will i notice in regards to sound and power ...cheers
