  1. Cheers Perv, I'm going to try with a Box Spanner first(with a handle welded on), hopefully this will do the trick and they're only £1.50 each. If that fails then i'll try your method. Fortunately the nut should not be too tight as i only had my shocks fitted recently. Cheers Chris
  2. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where the resistor goes to stop the Airbag light coming on after fitting an aftermarket Steering Wheel please? From searching on the forum i gather the resistors can be bought from Awesome but where do i go after that? Is it much of a job? Thanks in advance Chris
  3. I maybe have missed something simple but how the hell do you remove the nut? Decided to put my new mounts on today but fell at the first hurdle as i couldn't remove the nut. So,Allen key in top to stop the strut turning but where after that as you obviously have to loosen the nut with a spanner/socket (whilst holding the allen key) which won't fit into the recess(socket will but you then can't get the allen key in) Do i need a special spanner/socket or have i missed something? Thanks in advance. Chris

    Dilemma

I was in the same situation a couple of months ago, wanted a black Highline or std VR with all the extras. I ended up with a black standard VR with no extras!!..not even A/C(but it's got a sunroof)...i picked it up for £2500(92k, fsh) and i don't regret it one bit as i had money left over to sort the suspension , induction kit etc. For me it's the engine that makes the car, you'll soon forget about not having leather. Chris
  5. Will an aftermarket MK2 Boss fit a MK3? Cheers Chris
  6. 17's with 205's, No rubbing at all. Got the tracking and camber done when the shocks were fitted. Well happy with the ride and looks of G-Max :-p Chris
  7. All sorted - stupid mechanic had assembled the mounts the wrong way around - bearing upside down, metal cup in the wrong place...a complete arse in other words.. Won't be getting my business again! Chris
  8. Had my G-max kit fitted yesterday, driving home i noticed a creaking/grinding noise at slow speeds when turning. opened the bonnet up tonight and the top strut mounts(think that's what theyre called?}are sat about 5-6mm up from where they used to be sat and the noise is them turning (metal on metal) theyre clearly visibly moving when i turn the wheel. Now, although the car drives fine i'm certain they aint supposed to sit proud like this and i'm taking it back to garage tomorrow. Can anyone shed any light on how bad this is? Or is that how they are supposed to be? - should they be greased etc?
  9. Same wheels as my VR came with, although mine are a bit corroded. I'm still un-decided if i like em or not...... Are they replicas of anything do you know? Chris
  10. I'm getting my suspension kit fitted today - I've done it myself on previous cars but encountered seized nuts that i couldn't remove. Other than that it was quite an easy job. Although this time i'm getting my garage to fit them as they're only charging £100 and that includes the tracking. Chris

    Dial Kits

What's peoples opinions of these? I just think the VR6 interior could do with livening up a bit as it's a bit 'dull'....(unfortunately i don't have leather) Obviously i don't want to go down the Halfrauds Chavvy route, just want some subtle bits adding... Anyone got any fitted? Or any other bits for that matter - I've been looking on awesome gti who have a selection of interior parts. Cheers Chris
  12. Just got my first VR6 although i have owned 3 MK2 GTi's in the past and was wondering how the VR6 Engine is supposed to sound whilst ticking over?...mine has a faint 'tappety' noise. Do VR's tick over quietly or should i expect this ticking? I'm not that worried about it as the engine sounds and goes so sweet but was just wondering what they actually sounded like. I seem to recall that my GTi's had a similar 'tappety' sound to them... Cheers Chris PS..Pretty certain it isnt the chains...i assume that would be more of a rattle?
  13. Well i've spoken to the owner, selling it as he needs a van for his work, he's the 4th owner, no a/c :-( , VWSH until he bought it 2 years ago then he's given it regular services since.....Think i'll have to go for a look. (h)
  14. Cheers Probably will go and look at it tomorrow. Anyone else got any opinions? Chris
