  3. Faulty Lambda sensor can also cause overfueling...
  4. Never heard of the flywheel going before... The noise you've described does sound like the starter motor solenoid on it's way as mine does it occasionaly at the moment... Flywheel story sounds like a bit iffy imo.. Chris
  5. Just got this code and it's description is; EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve -N80 WTF? Any ideas peeps? Ta
  6. Just to finish this post off.. I took a gamble on it being the Lambda so bought a genuine one from VW. Finally fitted it this afternoon and the problem and error codes have gone away (h) So lesson number 1 is don't buy cheap Lambda sensors - always get genuine ones! For the record, the car was running a bit lumpy, felt like it was holding back and drinking petrol. Chris
  7. Mine did the same so that's just what i've done to quieten it, replaced the two centre sections with standard ones and it's lost the booming somewhat... Chris
  8. A standard set up? Found this but not too sure if it's what you want? Google the past number and see what you get??? Chris
  9. As the lights are 10+ years ld you might get away with not putting them in the oven - you might be able to prise them open - run a blade around the sealant. If not then stick em in the oven for 5 mins on a low setting. Painting - just use a small brush and a steady hand- the glass will hide any brush marks, far easier than trying to mask parts off. Did mine at the weekend, although i have the MK4 style the principle is still the same. Chris
  10. Just had mine done - there are two main pipes and i know one of them is £120 from VW alone, so add labour + the cost of the other pipe.. £300 aint too bad imo..
  11. Do a search for 'Timing Chains'... literaly hundreds of posts about em....
  12. Brillo pads bring the shine up lovely, followed by a quick wax to protect...
  13. Replaced my Lambda sensor about 6 months ago for the M.O.T with a cheap jobby from GSF.. now i'm getting Error Code 00525(02 Sensor) again and the car feels a tadge sluggish.. Searched about on here to find that the cheap sensors tend to fail often (Doh!) .. so i'm thinking mine might have done so too?.. Should i go ahead and buy one from the stealers instead? Any help appreciated Chris
  14. You got a link for the Scott Carson gif?... Sooo need to e-mail that about :-) Chris
  15. Wasnt the pump, turned out to be a very rusted pipe, the one that goes from the Steering Rack to the pump... Chris
  16. Defo some arking going on, try it in the dark and you should be able to see the arking and then identify where it's coming from. More likely to be a HT lead i reckon...if it is then replace them or bodge it with insulation tape... Chris
  17. How common on a VR is it for the PS Pump to fail? Mine has suddenly started making a horrible whining noise when turning the wheel and the steering almost feels lumpy at slower speeds.. Cars done 100k Pump or belt? Cheers Chris
  18. i think it's the rear bumoer that doesnt quite sit right, so the corner that joins the arch is catching...
  19. Here ya go,i asked the same question a while back.. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?149041
  20. MK3.5 Gearknob & Gaitor from the stealers is cheap enough and fits.. Part No 1J0 711 113 FEU Chris
  21. Got my arches rolled yesterday (Wide-Wheels - top bloke!) but i've still got something catching on my rear passenger wheel area... not all the time, only when i go over large bumps i hear a brief scraping noise(almost like a mudflap on road noise) Now ive bounced up and down on all 4 corners and cant see anything catching anywhere,so any clues as to what it might be? The tyre isnt marked either... Odd that it's only coming from one of the rears... Chris
  22. Another one of the lights...taken with mobile so a bit crap.. [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1193734512_3707_FT203555_photo-0062.jpg][/lightbox] Wheels to follow... Chris
