  1. I fitted extractors and the lift in performance is nicely noticeable. The price is excessive under bonnet heat. I fabricated a heat shield to protect the hoses etc and its made a big improvement to their tolerance. On the other hand the new shield deflects heat back towards brake lines and now I'm noticing odd brake behaviour. It also deflects heat down onto the back of the block and starter (I think its down there?). I could go on making heat shields or I could wrap the pipes. I've been advised both ways.   2. My car, manufactured Feb 1995, has this air intake snorkel: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v243/tellabello/VR-6/dsc00924shrunk2.jpg Its now burned through at the bottom. Searching Ebay for a replacement I've found a number of these - also said to be for VR6s: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v243/tellabello/VR-6/snorkel1.jpg Is the second version a late model modification that substitutes OK for the first or is it a different creature all together?
