  1. Decided to change rear discs and pads as brakes were noisy but when I took the wheels off I realised that it was a lot more complicated than other cars where they are just held on by the wheel bolts :@ Anyway, I didn't dare taking out the, what i guessed was an abs sensor, but realised that the handbrake on the rhs wheel was sticking so applied lots of WD40 ( carefully ! )and pushed and pulled it loads of times. This seemed to do the trick until I applied the handbrake, which of course pulls it even more, and it got stuck again. This morning driving to work I could feel that the car was slig
  2. After searching around and getting prces of about £14 each ( I live in Denmark )for Bosch plugs, I found a shop that does Nippon Denso equivalents much cheaper. I actually use Densos on my motocross bike and think they are fantastic. Anybody tried these before ? Any comments ?
  3. Success Found the plug removal tool ! I just had a look under the bonnet and there it was, around the arm that keeps the bonnet open !! If you consider the car is a high-mileage import, it is a major feat indeed !! I even downloaded a template from vwvortex on how to make your own, which was very nice of them !
  4. I hope you are patient with newbies and their stupid questions ! It's time for me to service my 1992 VR6 and after doing a forum search was horrified to see mention of a special tool to remove leads and plugs Is that right ? Is there no way I can change plugs using normal tools ? Do I need any other special tools to do the service my self ? Can I use Esso Ultron oil ( full synthetic ).The engine has done 212 K km. Oh, and by the way, I can hear a slight "loose chain" kind of noise from the engine at tickover.Does that mean new chains ? Thanks guys and girls
